I'm trying to remove my JBA shorties (dual cat) and put on pacesetter LTs, but my driver's side header won't go out through the top or bottom! I removed the valve cover and block coolant temperature sensor too.

Any pointers?

Did you take out the steering linkage as well?

Haven't tried yet. I probably will today and may also try jacking the engine up.

Definitely jack the engine up. If you don't need to to get the shorties out, you will need to to get the LT's in. Might as well just go ahead and do it and save yourself the time of trying to figure out how to angle them in without the engine lifted. Good luck. My project took two full days, but I'd never done anything like that before either and I had side projects, so that's part of it.

Removing the steering linkage will help drastically. I'm sure that is what the header is catching on.

Thanks guys.

Friend of mine came over and helped me (thanks Kevin!), I think I could have gotten all this stuff myself eventually but he was a big help and now the longtubes are on the car. Just have to tighten the bolts a bit more, clean up a big mess, do my plugs and OTVC wires, and put her back together :metal:

Hopefully you don't have MAF sensor voltage problems like I inherited after my LT install. I'll be figuring that out this week though. :)

yea u have to take off the steering linkage and the valve cover, if u do this on the drivers side u do not have to jack up the engine.. thats what i did last week.... we got my driver's side longtube in bu wehavent even touched the passengers side.... :(

btw what do u torque your header bolts at? i have he stage 8 locking header bolts..
