Need4Camaro 06-09-2007, 10:21 AM 2001 Camaro Z28 - First I was going to ask if you saw a problem with this setup
Long Tube Headers
Hi-Flow Cats
X-Pipe
2.25" Pipe
Route OVER Axel
2.50" Inlet / Outlet Bullet Mufflers (or possible Chambered Muffler if I can find one small enough...)
Quad Tips
First shop told me that I'd be better off doing without the X-Pipe...
Second shop told me that I wouldn't have enough space? I've seen this done several times before though...
My question is, what kind of an exhaust specialists did you see to get your TD's setup?

romoranger 06-10-2007, 05:04 PM drop the 2.25 inch crossover, use a 2.5" one. you will need to find an exhaust shop that either is a)willing to try new things or is b) talented.
Jared 3870 06-10-2007, 06:21 PM I didn't use any exhaust specialist. I used CZ28 and LS1tech for pics and ideas, and built my own.
My exhaust is pacesetter longtubes, summit x pipe, and 2 flowbastard 40's dumped at the rear axel. 400 bucks and you have a complete true dual system.
ABA383 06-10-2007, 07:55 PM Mine was all custom 3" stainless with an X actually exiting out of the side behind both doors...The shop I used does dumps, side, and over the axle, but it ain't cheap, BUT its worth every penny...

How much more to the total price would you predict it would cost to go over the Axel?

You wouldn't happen to have any pics of your setup? That is percisely what I plan on doing to my Camaro this summer. Thanks

Thats just a few pics to show you the clearance. I don't have any pics of the X pipe off of the car. Next time I have it off I'll get some more pictures.

I can't quote the shop's prices, but I think 3" TDs with an X or an H over the axles would be around $1200-1500ish, but you'd get one of the best set ups out there, period...I have $1000 in mine and its all stainless...I'll get some pix up of it now that it has the side exits....Do a search under my screen name and "3" stainless TDs with an X"and you'll find my older thread with pix when it was dumped...My lowest point is 4" of clearance and we used the 3" Edelbrock 304 SDT mufflers...

2QUIK6 06-27-2007, 04:23 PM Here's link to the true duals I made and how I did it.
http://web.camaross.com/forums/showthread.php?t=486729&highlight=true+duals
I had a shop do them before this..paid $700 and it was a POS that began rattling after a while and the bends were horrible...and it was a shop that was recommended for doing TD on f-bodies so mine wasn't the first one they had done.
It was at that point I decided I would NEVER go to an exhaust shop again and I would figure out how to do things myself when it came to exhaust work.... I'm very happy with what I have now :) and I made it over the axle!
