Possible A.I.R. leak

My car all of a sudden sounds real bad under load. I poped the hood and could feel air or exhaust gas coming from the fitting on the passenger side exhaust manifold that goes into the black check valve. It's right on the nut where the pipe connects to the check valve. This isnt normal right? Can i fix it?

Scratch that last post,thefitting accually snapped off right at the check valve. What is the part called for a new metal pipe that goes to the exhaust manifold? Could i possibly plug it until i can replace it?
