Hope this isn't a repost. I know its for a good cause, but I am wondering now where the special edition Mustang thing is going to end up?
muckz 06-07-2007, 04:33 PM Interesting, the tag line reads "Winning the race against breast cancer is going to take a whole lot of horsepower", but there is no increase in or mention of horsepower. Just a styling package.

They didn't get carried away with the styling upgrades either. Still, its going for a great cause, I like the idea behind it. My company deals alot with the Susan G. Komen organization as well.:) It should be a win/win situation, it'll help Ford sell some more cars and it will help a charitable organization at the same time.
Jim the Nomad 06-07-2007, 05:21 PM Penn and Teller had an episode where they explained that those pink ribbons are BS because there isn't really any nationally unified medical effort against breast cancer, but I haven't researched it for myself, so idk

No mention of HP, probably because its a V-6.
guionM 06-08-2007, 01:16 AM Although it's a good cause, and it shows once again that Ford's Mustang wrote the book on how to do special editions, I think I'll wait for the Bullitt instead.
Should be out this fall. :D

I think "wrote the book" is a little strong - to me it implies that they're the best, and personally I think all those special editions are little more than window dressing. Doing special editions that offer a customized driving experience would be far more impressive IMHO.
mdenz3 06-08-2007, 12:05 PM It seems to me that a regular mustang will be the rare ones 20 years from now.
Pentatonic 06-08-2007, 12:35 PM I thought it was a pretty pansey idea when I first read this thread's title, but looking at it, it does look like a nice idea for a good cause. They just need Oprah to give the car some good publicity. :D
99SilverSS 06-08-2007, 04:58 PM Aww cute! I like where Ford's head is and the idea behind it but to me it makes the Mustang further look like a chicks car.
HAZ-Matt 06-08-2007, 05:33 PM Good cause, maybe a little bit of a stretch for a whole option package though.

Ok?
This is an ultra rare Mustang... GT!!!
If Ford put a sixteenth into the rest of the cars they did into Mustang they wouldn't be in the hole they're in.
georgejetson 06-09-2007, 08:45 AM Makes me wonder if GM and Chrysler will follow their lead -- will we see a ton of Camaro and Challenger special editions?

You can probally bet the farm you'll see a Challenger Daytona, SRT, and Rumble Bee special editions, and Fbodfather is already fishing for special edition ideas for Camaro, so you probally don't need to wonder too much. :)

Supposedly, one of the first Challenger "specials" will be the Challenger T/A -- graphics plus the slightly-souped-up 5.7/auto driveline from the Charger Daytona.

That would be interesting.

I heard that was going to be a Dark Hyland Green Shelby GT with a V6 grille, no spoiler and 5 less hp for 34k.
ProudPony 06-10-2007, 07:30 AM Seems to me that if they a offered a pink mustang, vice a stupid little pink stripe on the bottom of the car that they might make more of a statement. I mean, think about how many girls would drop the coin to get a pink mustang.
Solid pink units were reserved for Playboy cars all the way back to the 1960's...
Some were given to playmates by Heffner - the prices of those units is sky-high. Others were available for order by anyone - color codes are on charts.

Here's the new proposal...

New Playboy Mustang (http://sema.autoblog.com/2006/11/21/playboy-pink-mustang/)
Though the Loman edition and the Playboy edition might both be asociated with boobs, they are WORLDS apart in the meaning behind them, so I don't think the Koman foundation would want to risk being associated with the latter on the vehicle.
