anyone got a picture of a 295 30/35 18 on a 9.5 inch wheel. i know they should be on a 10 incher but unfortunately i dont have any of those so im gonna have to try them on my 9.5's. They arent for the track and mostly just for looks. I was gonna go to a 285 but i think i found some 295's for the same price. The 245's have to go, im tired of feeling like im on an oil slick everytime i get on the gas.

I'd use a 285 on a 9.5 " wheel even if they were the same price as the 295

I just mounted a set of 285/35/18 bfg drags on 2006 Gto with 9.5 rims..........Not recommended but does fit....by the way thats to wide for 2006 GTO
I have 315/35/17 on my 17 X 9.5 rims and they fit fine. Doesn't look like it's overstretched or anything.

The difference is 10 mm, about 3/8". The SS Camaros came with 9" wheels and 275s, so 285 would be about the right size for 9.5s.
Tire sizing isn't about looks, its about how the rim width effects the tread flatness across the tire. You can put a wider tire than optimum on a rim but the handling will be effected. I've been told more than once that its better to miss on the side of too narrow a tire than too wide. So 275s would be ok.
Of course if you don't care about handling, only looks you can do whatever you want.
Even with 285s on the rear I've had a bit of rub in the wheel wells a time or 2. You will want to be sure the rear end is centered to avoid rubbing. Fronts are no problem.
