abs light

Anyone care to take a stab at this one? My abs light has come on? What is most likely it? The sensor on the wheel hub or at the abs unit?

My vote would be for the sensor at the wheel.

A Chevy dealer I used to work with (before they went out of business) said that they had never seen an ABS unit go out. Unfortunately, my mechanic at the time convinced me to buy another ABS unit. My problem was actually the master cylinder, we couldn't get the system to bleed.

If you do end up needing an ABS unit, I have one that should be good that I could let go for a deal.

Also check the connectors to the ABS box. Had the same problem on another car, changed the hub. Problem came back, checked both front hubs for output with a multimeter set for AC and they were fine. Pulled the connector to the ABS box, plugged it back in and the problem was gone for a while. Checked the connector and one of the wires was loose from it's pin.

If you're running headers the ABS wiring to the wheel sensors is prone to heat damage.
