well, it will effect your rear o2 sensors, a gutted/removed cat does the same thing, the gutted cat makes it possible to pass a visual inspection though.

depends where you are and your milage. here in pa, most shops wont even waste their time even looking at your exhaust (other than for hanging parts or damage) if you have less than 5k miles/yr. i justt dropped my car off for inspection to be done tomorrow and im not the least bit worried about not having cats. for those over 5k/yr, some shops still overlook that since they dont use the sniffer test with obdII. rear o2 sims, or edit them out in tuning and your good to go

whats with the bold writing

anyway, it depends on your mods. stock you might see a 3-5 rwhp gain.

There won't be a very large gain if any by having them gutted just as there won't be a very big difference if you gut them or weld in straight pipes in their place.

Personally, I think that is a matter of taste and preference. There are endless setups out there that can get you a nice, deep tone. Check out www.ls1sounds.com , get a feel for some of the different combos and what sounds pleasing to you.

+1 on the duals. They are the only way to achieve that real muscle car sound.

i agree, but they are kind of a PITA.
If i did a catback, i would recommend the edelbrock, magnaflow, or tsp rumbler
