How much power is lost if the wheels rub?

I dynoed my car the other night and the tires were rubbing the fender wells...I did not know this until the end because I never would have thought my 28" MT ET Streets would grow like they did. I smelled burning rubber...what a dumb arse :D

I had this issue a dozen years ago with an old Mopar of mine and I remember losing like 2-3 mph.

I am sure many people have had this issue...just curios what their results were when they fixed it.

to truly answer your question though it would depend on how much it rubbed, anytime you have friction your going to slow down obviously not to mention tear up the body pannels and your tires which is why it's important to have proper fitting equipment.
