Question on LS1 Brake Upgrade

For upgrading brakes on a 1994 Z28 to the LS1 dual-piston front brakes, do I need to purchase LS1 hoses (flexible) or lines (rigid) to complete this upgrade? I don't think the LT1 hoses will bolt up to the caliper. Is this correct? Thanks..

I'll try to answer this, as I am in the process of doing the same, the only thing i need is brake lines and good weather. What you can do is use the LT1 lines but you'll need to bend the bracket where the LT1 rubber line meets the hardline on the body, also this will bend the hard line ( I think you'll need to use the LS1 banjo bolt to bolt the LT1 line to the caliper), or you can use the LS1 rubber line and still have to bend the bracket and the hardline. You can also you the LS1 Corvette brake lines which is longer than the LS1 and LT1 lines and you would not need to bend anything, minimal bending at least, I think a minimal bit of filing of a tab is required to get them to fit. This is what i gathered from searching thru the posts, hopefully some1 else will chime in

Get the LS1 rubber lines that go from the caliper to the LT1 hard line. The threads are the same as the LT1 rubber lines so they are a direct bolt on. The LT1 hard line will have to be slightly bent where it mounts to the frame, I bent mine at about a 45* angle and it worked beautifully...just bending the mounting tab pretty much changes the angle enough, the metal line will move when doing this, but it really didn't bend the metal line much which was not required...it was no big deal at all.

This just in: 98-up V6 stuff works too! OMG :eek:

I took the existing mounting brackets off, machined the hole to fit the LS1 hoses then bent the bracket 90 degrees. Reinstall the bracket and bend the line to fit. Looks factory original and the hose length is correct.
