Would a new 31 spline traclock unit be reliable for a 400-500 rwhp street car? I dont want a locker or spool because its a 90% street car and didnt have $480 for the Auburn.. Anyone have any experience with a trac-lock diff on a street/strip car?

I don't have any experiance with the traclock but I am currently using a Detroit tru-trac diff. I believe it is simular to the traclock on how it is designed but not sure. So far I've been very happy with it, holds power well and drives great. I've only got 350ish RWHP though.

I cant use the True Trac, cause when I ordered a axle kit I didnt have them shorten one that I needed to use it.. So kinda screwed on that..

i had a spool in my 9" for years and just put in a new traclock 31 spline, so far it is working fine,, remember to get longer bolts for the ring gear if you dont have them

Is it just a factory traclock? Or is it a aftermarket brand? I got ring gear bolts with my axle housing kit..

just make sure the ring gear bolts are long enough,, open carriers and spools use short bolts and posi's use longer bolts

here is the one i purchased:

My billet case trak-loc is holding up fine in my 9" so far, only a few track passes as of yet though, all in the 1.5's.
