Today I noticed my 94 Z28's brake light stayed on even after I released the parking brake. The brakes do feel a bit spongy. Any suggestions as to what I should check first?

Im asuming your talking about the one in the dash, mine came on about a week ago, we fixed it yesterday by rebleeding the breaks. I believe the light comes on when there is uneven pressure on the breaks (I think thats how they explaned it).

well since my last post, I checked and the fluid was low so I filled it up. I'll have to pull the wheels and see if the calipers are leaking. I dont think the brake fluid evaporates so its got to be leaking somewhere, right?

Check all the lines and calipers, you are losing the fluid somewhere.

If the fluid was low in the master cylinder, and you added fluid, there's a possibility that you got air in the system. Need to bleed the brakes if that's the case.

there is always the possibility all four brake pads are worn down, this would cause more fluid to be in the calipers, causing fluid level to go down and set the light off.
