Parking brake squeak

Started after longer periods of storage (3 months-ish) -- wheel is off now, parking break released - and I can see physical contact between the pad and rotor surface.

When the car was stored, the parking break WAS engaged -- I know ideally you should use the gears or blocks to hold it in place (I do usually) but forgot to a couple times.

Now -- is this parking break free-travel that needs to be adjusted, or is it just stuck and not releasing entirely -- or what?

Thanks for any advice on how to go about fixing this!

BELOW is from another thread -- and using the e-brake slightly does eliminate the squeak:

Its the rear brake caliper. Either the rotor is rubbing the caliper bracket or the inner pad is shifting within the caliper bracket.

Drive your car with the e-brake slightly on over rough road. If the squeak is gone it what I stated above.

What adjustments should I make?

If there isn't a mechanical problem, here's a procedure from Shoebox's site to adjust the parking brake: http://shbox.com/1/adjparkingbrake.jpg
