I was watching Motorweek the other day, they were talking about Ford's Lightning Bolt concept.
Basically it was a Ranger with the S/C'd V8 engine.
It was just like a smaller version of the F150 Lightninig.
If I remember correctly I think they said it made 420 HP.
It was not planned for production.
Gotta give Ford credit, it was really a neat truck.
Anyone else seen it?

I've heard of it. Sounds nice. Does that concepts 420hp rating mean that the next Lightning will be rated at 420 since it's essentially the same motor?

I'm really not sure.
Although the weight difference between the F150 and the Ranger has to be account for something.

Now unless Ford is planning on pulling out some stops of its own for this truck, it wont be anything like what you described.

Lightning Bolt.....Thunderbolt.
Two completely different trucks.
Maybe Bolt is Ford's answer to Chevrolet's new SS line. :D
Still has that sad-looking underachiever donkey Ranger face like, "please don't rev me too high, I might start spewing loose parts" .. someone get me a pillow.

ford probably wont do anything like that. the truck wasnt meant for that at all. Anyway, SVT is having a field day with the Lightenings- two of the same would just kill it.
And I must say, I cant wait to let my hands on a lightening next summer!

Next SVT is likely to be the Lincoln LS anyway. Seems the Vette powered CTSv took Ford a bit by surprise. :D

A SVT Lincoln? That would be pretty bad ass. But on the other hand, im not too sure. I just helped my grandparents buy the new "Sporty" Lincoln LS. I forgot who, but McLaren ( i think ) hooked a top end model of the Lincoln with a performance suspension and some engine stuff.
Ehhh, whatever- my father's old 92 Lincoln has a towing package owns all right now, just imagine a new SVT with a 4.6 Supercharged Engine, Performance Suspension, and Custom Interior- HEAVEN!

McLauren did/is supposed to have a version this year, but he's not involved with the SVT version (2004?).

The Lightning Bolt is quite ugly. Much uglier than that. I'll see if I can dig up some pics.
EDIT: Oops, I got confused. I thought we were talking about the Lightning Rod.
