I want to build a solid LT1 but I have heard of several horror stories of shops in the area. They should be familiar with Blok-Tru and Bor-Tru.
Someone mentioned Billeo (sp?) in Santa Monica but I can't find it on the web.
I'm looking for a solid block "built to kit".

Try L&R Engines in Santa Fe Springs. http://www.lnrengine.com
They built my bottom end and are reasonably priced, very knowledgeable, quick to return calls, and answer questions. Ask for Derek and tell him Binhtri sent you. Pronounced Been-Tree =P

Thanks! It's been difficult to find a good shop. Lots of average ones but I haven't found a local quality shop. I appreciate the tip.

Blown 383 - I just thought of something. It's kinda funny you recommend an engine shop, but your Sig states your engine is in a Billion pieces. :D

Like the sig says....the car is in ONE billion pieces however the kick ass stroker motor is just fine sitting on the engine stand.

LOL... the way I read the sig, it sounded like the engine was in a billion pieces which meant both the car and the stand. I see your point.
Their website has a few pages missing. I called them and they have a block for $725 that has been torque plate honed, Blok-Tru, Bore-Ture, and I'm upping for a splayed 4-bolt... all with cam bearings and freeze plugs installed. Seemed like a good group to talk to. They have a Scat Rotating Assembly (forged) for $1300 which is dirt cheap compared to other quotes.

I'm running Manley pushrods in my LT1 now. They've been very good to me. I'm thinking of picking up some valves when I get this project going after Summer.
