GTO 360 hp, ls6 later?gtjeff 11-26-2002, 01:21 AM Check this out : www.fiero.nl Look under general fiero chat category for thread about Bob Lutz visting Kettering University on Monday. Sorry a direct link to this thread wouldnt work. gab 11-26-2002, 02:01 AM sorry I'm slow tonight, but it took me a while to find it, based on your directions... try warping here instead (http://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum1/HTML/023886.html) to save others the "aggravation" Meccadeth 11-26-2002, 02:23 AM He also said that in a few years, the GTO will have the 405 HP Z06 engine, with 0-60 under 5 secs. That means it won't weigh as much as some people were speculating...:D RiceEating5.0 11-26-2002, 11:35 AM Originally posted by Meccadeth He also said that in a few years, the GTO will have the 405 HP Z06 engine, with 0-60 under 5 secs. That means it won't weigh as much as some people were speculating...:D Why couldn't it? a 36XXlb vehicle with 405hp could easily dip into the 4's for a 0-60. The m5 is near 2 tons and due to it's 394hp 5.0 is good for high 4's. bigsteve7 11-26-2002, 12:15 PM Originally posted by RiceEating5.0 Why couldn't it? a 36XXlb vehicle with 405hp could easily dip into the 4's for a 0-60. Gearing and torque curve are what matters when it comes to acceration, not a motors hp rating. guionM 11-26-2002, 12:29 PM Originally posted by Meccadeth He also said that in a few years, the GTO will have the 405 HP Z06 engine, with 0-60 under 5 secs. That means it won't weigh as much as some people were speculating...:D The Monaro is at least 15 pounds lighter than the 390+ horsepower Mustang Cobra, so with lower gearing (probally the reason for Mr. Lutz's GTO "gas guzzler" statement last spring) it should easily drop below 5 seconds. Seems he reinterated not only the word on Solstice's pending production, but the possibility that each division may have a version. What's also great is realizing that GTO seems like it will be around for awhile. :D Meccadeth 11-26-2002, 12:43 PM Originally posted by guionM Seems he reinterated not only the word on Solstice's pending production, but the possibility that each division may have a version. I just hope their not all 4-cylinders though. I was interested in the Solstice till they said it would get an Ecotec I4. Maybe they'll offer a V8 in them in the future? I hope, oh well, whatever, nevermind...(Nirvana) gtjeff 11-26-2002, 01:16 PM Gab, you wont find this info on any other gm websites. If it is such an "aggrivation", next time i wont bother posting something like this here. gab 11-26-2002, 05:49 PM Originally posted by gtjeff Gab, you wont find this info on any other gm websites. I was aiming at my ability to find the thread/info you posted (based on your directions), not at the source of the information itself. bye bye!!! Have a nice day!! | ||
