I have two crankshafts and an engine block that I'm considering selling. I would like a serious assessment of the market values for the following:

1969 Z28 302 cu-in crankshaft, large journal. This crank is standard size very low mileage. It displays forging 1178.

1969 Z28 302 block. It is the mate to above crankshaft. Std bore negligable wear. Can get casting and date info upon request.

1970 LT-1 crankshaft. Std journals. Very low mileage. displays forging 1182.

Thank you in advance for your help.

I don't think the LT1 crankshaft is worth a whole lot ( forged large journal 350 cranks are pretty common) but you could likely get good money out of a DZ 302 block and crank. Especially from someone looking for a proper date coded engine for a resto. Dollar value?? Don't know:( Probably get $1000 pretty easy for block and crank- don't know how much more.

The 1178 crank is worth $300-$800 depending on condition and demand. I might be interested in it if you are seriously looking to sell. My 302 has an LT1 crank in it so I'd like to put the 302 crank back in. How much do you want for it?

What is the critical information to fully identify the block and where (on the block) is the information found? Give me a list and I'll drag the block out and post the information I find. These pieces are very choice and I would like to see them go to serious 69 Z-28 restorer.

What is the full engine code stamping on the front of the 302 block? It should be something like V0217DZ and there might be the partial VIN up there as well. The casting date is on the back of the block and should be something like B 10 9. The partial VIN might be stamped into the vertical area down near the oil filter. It's the rough casting and hard to read if the VIN is stamped in there. It should read something like 9N584123.
