about prostar skinnies up front...
So, just read through the FAQ on prostars... thank you injuneer for great info once again!
Anyway, I see I will need the 5/16" spacer up front for the skinny rim, and Ill prolly do the 3.5 inch rim.
So, anyone find some studs that will work for the spacer/prostar combo that still work with the nice closed ended chrome lugnuts for the stock wheels??
I really dont want to have ugly open ended lug nuts holding on my chrome ZO6 wheels when I roll it on the street.
So, just wonderin if anyone found a way to fix this little dilema yet.
Thanks guys and gals!!

Thats why I picked up a set of Bogarts. I, unlike most, don't mind the salad shooters for the street. But there was no way I was going to run them with no center caps with the longer studs needed for the other aftermarket front drag wheels. I like also the fact that there one of the lightest wheels out there, and one of the strongest as far as drag only.
They "might" see a little street time.

I just ordered a set of Draglites and was wondering the same thing. I plan to run the Draglites on the street, but may want to put on the stock 5-spokes every now and then if I am taking a trip or craving to hug some tight corners. Anyone ever figured out a solution to this.....or is there one?
yup, after a weekend of searching, the solution is bogarts. They make the rims custom to our f-bodies, and NO grinding necissary, and no longer wheel studs so we can switch to our street rims and use the capped chrome lug nuts. Downside, they cost a little more, but are way lighter than the welds or centerlines. I dont want to weaken my braking system by grinding, I JUST UPGRADED IT TO THE LS1 FRONTS! lol
So, from what I read, Bogarts are the shizznit.

Bogarts may be the answer to the "stud" issue. However, I think I read somewhere that you can also grind the calipers on the front in place of using a spacer. If this is true, you should be able to grind the front calipers and still be able to use the stock studs. I also read somewhere else that the wheels will interfere with the clips and the spacer is absolutely necessary. Can anyone here verify this?
However, Bogarts have their limitations too. Not only are they significantly more expensive, there is a trade off to be had in favor of their weight. The Welds are a little heavier, but they are strong enough to be driven on the street. Bogart wheels are "not intended for street use" because they "remove as much mass (weight) as possible, while maintaining enough structural integrity to be sure that Bogart Racing Wheels will survive through their intended purpose".
I have nothing but great things to say about Bogarts, However, they are strictly a "race only" wheel. IMO, Welds are a nice compromise for a street/strip wheel. My car isn't a daily driver so I worry a little less about the structural integrity of the Weld wheels if driven occasionally on the street. I prefer not to pay a small fortune for wheels that I can only drive at the track. Just my $0.02.

For me, I dont want to grind my calipers down. I am trying to get the best of both worlds, so I know my options are limited. Every skinny says DONT USE IT ON THE STREET. It doesn't matter who made it. But, that is a risk you take to roll on the street with them. I prolly wont roll on the street with them, as I like to corner hard. I may, however, bolt up the slicks on the rear to take care of some annoying ricers around here to show them whats up. hehe.
The bogarts are expensive. But, they keep everything stock. I like that idea. The price sucks. But, they are a strange dealer... and I need a dana 60. So, can you say PACKAGE DEAL??

Im gonna price out my options, and see what I can afford at this point.
But, thank you so much for the breakdown, its lots of things to consider now.
THANKS!!
