jammer94 04-21-2007, 09:00 PM well i will be putting together a twin turbo kit.
i am building the kit myself but i am a little confused regarding turbo size. my engine is a stock bottom end done heads and high lift cam the car is also a 6pd.. i only want to boost 5-8 pounds due to the fact i dont want to blow the bottom end on this puppy YET....
i already have the headers and was wondering if i would be able to go with 2 t3/t4 .48 A/R compressor .60 A/R turbine .60trim
the headers i have are to mount both turbos up front and utilize t3 flanges.
will these turbos be enough and good enough for me to achieve the 5-8 lbs of boost i want..?will it top out to quick?car has 3:08's in the rear. or will it take to long to spool.
just wanted a little insight here these turbos are the 1st ones on my list being i can get both new for $400 they are not ball bearing TURBONETICS turbos but they will work until they give...
let me know guys... lots of guys are telling me to go with a .63 a/r how big is the difference between the .48 and .63 will it hold me back alot.
jammer94 04-22-2007, 03:42 PM anyone with any input on this////
DirtyDaveW 04-22-2007, 06:05 PM It would be the short path to call one of the Turbo vendors and ask them about their recommendations. Have all your information ready regarding the motor, mods, car, HP goals and use of the car (Street only? Strip only? If both, what percentage strip vs street?)
engineermike 04-22-2007, 07:37 PM It has been proven that you can make up to ~650 rwhp on a 350 cid with twin T3 turbochargers (stock Buick V-6 units). Not sure about the ones you mentioned. What mm size is the inducer? How much power are they rated for?
Mike
jammer94 04-23-2007, 12:24 AM they are
rated for up to 300-350 hp each which with i would combine that right?
not sure on the inducer size will try to get some more info, i was just worried with the exhaust side being a .48 if it would spool to quick and then just top out at like 5k which i want to at least rev to 6k.
i was also looking at the .63 exh wheel turbos to which people are telling me to go with but i dont want it to be over kill or will it?

Your original post says the exhaust A/R is .60 and the compressor is .48.
Mike
jammer94 04-23-2007, 09:01 AM nope its a .48 ar exhaust side..
jammer94 04-27-2007, 10:24 AM how about grand national sized turbos./

See above from my earlier post.

Way too small. Usually the max hp you see on those turbo is at 20+psi @ max efficiency.
If you dont know the wheel sizes than you need to hide your credit and dont buy anything till you figure out what you need ;)
Anyone that doesnt advertise what size the wheels are dont know what they are selling, or they are selling junk. Buyer beware.

What stage turbine housing:think:
jammer94 04-29-2007, 08:49 AM it says stage 3
Alan Namsa 04-29-2007, 10:21 AM I wouldn't buy any product that was marketed under the nomenclature of stages. This is real big in performance communities where technical information is traded for popularity among marketing technique, such as the bolt-on import community. One company's stage 1 product might out-perform another company's stage 3. On the other hand, specific technical information would reveal exactly what the customer was getting. Unfortunately, we live by one-uping the next guy.
Consider these words: Regrets about the low-quality last far, far longer than the celebrations over the low price.
Kelly. 04-29-2007, 11:30 AM What stage turbine housing:think:
stage 3 is fine.
instead of going to a stage 5 wheel, i would suggest a 28 housing :)

stage 3 wheel is fine. no need to ask for it, it is what all of the t3t4E turbos come with unless you specify something else.
