Max Power w/ Stock Unported Heads?

Does anyone have any idea on how much power would be feasible on a stock unported head car with a built bottom end?

i made 520 rwhp on a mustang dyno with a t-trim on stock unported heads and stock throttle body

Don't forget those mid-length headers:)

My LT1 put down 480 RWHP and 514 RWTQ on a Mustang Dyno with an S-Trim set up for 12 psi. Stock heads (besides valve springs), MAC shorty headers, stock TB, and 42 lb injectors. Pretty raw tune, also.

I made 437/475 on stock heads, stock bottom end, gtp4 cam + bolt ons thru a very loose 3800 Edge Pro Race. Car had 130k+ miles

I realize that stock heads have pretty good potential when their ported, but I really was interested in finding out how much power people have made with them unported.

I was shooting for 550-600hp and it seems like it may be realistic from the above posts.

with that turbo i dont see a problem making over 700rwhp,as long as your buttom end can hold up and whoever is tunning knows what they are doing. put it this way i think you can make plenty of power on stock heads, the question is can you keep the motor toghether, if you can you should have no issues.

yeah, im shooting for 700 rwhp on stock heads, and throttle body...alot of people like to tell me that im completely wrong nd its impossible, but i feel that with forced induction, porting everything is somewhat unnecessary as its getting rammed in faster than it can suck it in anyway. if I can tune my car for 18 psi, whats the point of porting everything only to then make 16 psi and slow down the intake velocity.

it helps to get stuff ported since you can force air in faster and get it out quicker. I dont see a problem with 700rwhp on stock heads.

Noob question... doesn't porting drop boost psi a little? Example, from 10 to 9.

Boost is basically a measure of restriction. All things being equal, ported heads should show less boost pressure than unported heads.

I would have to say at least 1k(flywheel, with appropriate turbo)

So, Leadfoots heads are unported. If they were ported or cleaned up a bit they would be less of a restriction. If there is less restriction they will flow better and show less boost pressure.

Does that mean Leadfoot can add more boost?

If his goal was 8# (example) and if the heads were less of a restriction they would drop to 7#, could he add another 1# to get back to his target boost?

When I had my heads ported he spent a lot of time on the exhaust and the the bowls. On blown motors the intake port is not so important. I would say that 600rhp would be about the limit. Beyond that the restriction will be so great you will start losing power at the top end. If your looking for a torquey low end rpm car stock heads will be great.:)
