MSD (http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=MSD%2D8226&N=700+115&autoview=sku)

I have to say that the Crane is winning in the d a m n sexy department, but the MSD has some pretty big numbers, of which I'm completely unfamiliar.

Are there other alternatives I should be considering?

I guess the link wasn't working. Sorry. I've inserted links for the coils I'm talking about.

Your not going to see power gains with them. A stock Delco replacement would do the trick nicely as well.

I've heard that the coils on the early LT1's left a little to be desired as far as output. I think GM changed the design in 1996 or 1997, but I'm not familiar with the specifics. That's the only reason I'm considering changing mine out when I replace the distributor. I also thought a stronger spark and longer duration might help if the car had been running rich, which I believe has been the case considering I've had trouble in the past with catalytic converters.
