Some pics from the 2007 NYC auto show

Just got back from the NYC auto show, ...a group of us went down, ...here's some pics. As usual it was a great time and nice to see Scott again...

The group shot:

...Scott is very ingenious at times , cool floral display

Aside from the Camaro (which had a constant crowd of admirers ), ...the G8 is definitely worthy of the attention it was getting:

I think GM intentionally has pics taken on single color backgrounds to magazines can photoshop them to look different.

My God, I love that G8. If the Camaro hadn't been grenlit I'd be looking at one of them.

The G8 is REALLY nice. A little smaller than I had expected. I'd say its "GTO" sized, especially in the width. I never did look at the wheelbase and length numbers to compare the two.

To be honest, if THIS car had been released as the "GTO" back in 04 I think it would have been better received. This car LOOKS like a PONTIAC! I absolutely love it.

However, it's great that GM is using the G8 and not rebadging it as the '08 GTO.

a four door GTO?

not the place to really discuss why the GTO failed... but suffice to say the G8 was designed from a clean sheet of paper, while the GTO was not.

No it wasnt. The G8 is rebadged Commodore, just like the GTO was a rebadged Monaro.

I think what he was trying to say is that its a "new" naming platform and its general goals and target audiences are very different.
