O2 sims?

I've been reading a lot of header threads and everyone says you have to get O2 sims after a header install (ORY I should say). Maybe it doesn't work on camaros, but when I put a catless header on my Nissan I used something called a "ghetto sim". Basicly you take a spark plug non-fowler (or two, if necessary) drill out the bottom, screw it into your pipe, and then screw in your O2 sensor. It pulls the sensor out of the exhast stream a little bit, so it doesn't smell the bad stuff. No SES light and it only costs a couple bucks. Worked like magic on my Spec-V. A friend of mine did it on his GTi after deleating his cat, and he never threw a code either. I just didn't know if anybody around here tried that, or maybe some have and it doesn't work with Camaros or something.

For alot of people running the sims like myself, we have off-road y-pipes which dont have cats or even provisions for the rear 02 sensors. Therefore, you'd still have to drill out the pipe, and weld in a O2 bung just to install the chaser and the sensor. For lazy bones like myself, it would just be easier to buy and plug in the sims.:) Its still a very interesting idea though.

The 02 simulators simple plug into the harness connectors of the rear 02 sensors. You don't have to worry about that though since you have a 95.

Nope, you have an OBD-I car. On the 96-97 LT1s, they had dual cats and also had a total of four oxygen sensors. Two before and two after the cats. The 02 sensors after the cats were simply there to monitor the catalyst efficiency.

The California emissions cars had two cats in 95, but regardless, they are still OBD-I and do not have the parameter of catalyst monitoring or rear 02 sensors at all for that matter.

i have one cat like right after one of the exhauts manifolds and one in the y-pipe area.....so ur saying my car was once a Cali car? strange never knew that
