Hooker OR Pacesetter??????????

What is the better header? Plug access, coating, performance??? I will buy what ever header yall perfer. I will be getting the coated longtube 1s.

Frankly, I would say they are both pretty equal in terms of plug access and performance. As for the coating, I have noticed it is a hit or miss with both brands. The coating on my Pacesetters started rusting in less then a years time and this is on a car that never see rain or snow and limited driving time. But the Pacesetters might have an advantage with their slip fit style which will offer better clearancing. Also, they are quite a bit cheaper over the Hookers.

No complaints on the Pacesetters. The price sold me mostly.

I just got off of the phone with jet hot and the make their own headers for
lt1s now. The cost $495 plus shipping. Any1 running theis? The are made just like hooker but are thicker(16 guage).

What do yall think about theis?

The Jet-Hots have been out for awhile now. They are a decent header as well and comparable to the Hookers and Pacesetters.

I went with hookers. The slip fit primary makes so you do not need to remove the steering linkage for installation. Also I like the flanged collector as opposed to the slip fit. Makes it alot easier for me to change pipes to dumps if I need to.

Eh, I still had to remove the steering linkage to slide the Pacesetter long tube in. :shrug:

We have noticed that the Pacesetters are the most popular, but I believe that is purely based on price. They seem to fit alright, but I haven't seen any long term photos of how the coating holds up. Depending on your budget I would probably go Pacesetter or Jet-Hot.

I ran Jet-Hots on my old car and thought they were great. The coating was awesome and the performance was on par with the rest of the pack. They also have the slip fit collector on the driver's side. Installation was a bit of a pain, but I've talked to quite a few others that had them slip right in...

go with coated pacesetters. they'll save you a few bucks and from what im seeing the hookers often have problems with leaking around the flanges. texas speed has the ceramic pacesetters for somethign like 365. id buy them

Jet hot also sells Pacesetter headers with their coating on them for $425 :D

I've seen the new Hooker Super comp (I believe) in person, the ground clearance is AMAZING! I really had to look hard to find the collector... :cool:

THe pacesetters are equally fitting. Good clearance and good performance for the money..

As with everything its in the company you trust. Most guys that i have known have done buisness with hooker and had good results. Decided to do the same and I really like the product I recieved. Not that I'm commenting on pacesetters quality or company just that this was a big part of why I bought what I bought.

coated pacesetters for under $400 shipped can your really argue with that

I love my Hooker headers. I put some High temp RTV on the slip fit primary just to make sure it doesn't leak and it works perfectly. The ground clearance is great and the coating looks top notch. They are also lighter than the pacesetters. Hooker also now makes their own y-pipe for about $100 less than the mufflex that I had to buy, so that makes it an even better option.

They are very similar to Hookers design, but have better workmanship IMO

I have had my coated headers for 2 years, plus a guy before me had them for 2 years. You cant even tell they were used.
