fuel pump question

When I do my lt1 conv. I think I'm going to go with a walbo255 kit from thunderracing. My question is about the 3.4l setup and wether or not the walbor will drop in with out any problems? I have searched and found a thread that said location of the pump is slightly different which is kind of a bummer because I plan on using the "trap door" method for the install. What I'm mainly concerned about is the actual fitment of the pump, wheter or not I'll have to change to lt1 sending unit, and harness plug in (as I don't intend on changing the fuel pump wiring). However, I am using the lt1 engine harness and forward harness (engine bay harness).

Any input at all would be helpful. thanks.

by the way the swap is in my sig- 3.4l to lt1

mine swapped in and out... the only modification i had to do was take the ground for the fuel level sending unit and transfer it to the new intank harness on the pump. Didn't have to grind anything on the bucket. and i did not opt for the "wiring harness"

got mine from thunder racing

Where was the ground for the sending unit bolted to and did you just splice it into the pump harness?

thanks alot!

edit: Hey Danhr, did you also do the trap door method? If so where was the v6 pump locate in relation to lt1

i've done them on v-6 and v-8's. you can cut at the same place.

the wire ran from the top of the sending unit to the actual sensor.... it wasn't bolted on, just crimped.

My swap is similar and was completed 7 years ago. Just so you know....you could leave the V6 pump in the tank and install an inline pump if you want to. I'm fairly well modded and spray 150 wet, have run in the 11s for a few years with the fuel setup this way. The V6 pump has never been a restriction in my case.

Awesome, I was also thinking about going that route but wasn't sure. Good info!
