I was watching Popular hot rodding tv today and they had a red 88 camaro that was tubbed and had a edelbrock crate motor in it. It was built by ohio state universtiy and mac tools racing. They didn't show the buildup too much and I've searched on the net for links but can't find anything on it. Any body see or hear of this car or have any links!

here is one link I found:

you will probably have to scroll down the list of cars to find it.

All show and no go! Only 410HP? He mentioned nitrous, but I didn't see any lines or solenoids when they showed the engine bay. I was hoping to see something with more power. Show cars make me gag. Especially tubbed, backhalved, monster tires, and a weak engine :(

ya true but don't forget its a university project and the body(chassis) setup will handle all that 400 hp and that car will run 11's easy and get good mpg and looks good. don't forget that its the chassis you want first then you can always throw in a stronger heart later. all things said that's a very clean looking car!

I thought Dean said "this car WOULD be a good candidate for a nitrous oxide kit," not that it already had one.
Loved the paint on the car. I thought the Edelbrock crate engine was kind of a weak choice, too.
Whatta ya wanna bet that Edlebrock gave them that motor for PR/marketing purposes? If someone gave me a free motor, I'd use it, too!
