255lph fuel bucket installtion questions

I didn't use a bucket on the 255lph fuel pump I installed a few years a go, well that pump died and I wanted to use a bucket on the new pump installation. The problem is I gave my old bucket a way. So, a friend gave me a bucket that he thought came out of an LT1...but, now I'm not so sure.

Everything I have read has said you need to trim off support ribs in the bucket to fit the pump, my bucket has no ribs at all, it is completely smooth, but yet fits decently. Is it possible I have an LS1 bucket, and if so will that work (see pictures below)?

using that bucket the pump has about 1/8th inch gap at the top and can move around vertically, I'm not sure if this is a problem or not.

Also, I'm not sure if I'm suppose to use the rubber sleeve shown in the pictures. With it it gets a much better seal on the hole at the bottom of the bucket, but seems kind of big to be used for that purpose.

Suggestions?

We are going to have to put the pump in by tomorrow, anyone have any ideas?

I just installed one in my brothers formula, that looks like a lt1 bucket to me. I didn't cut out the ribbs in my install and the pump went in just fine? I think the ribbs on the inside of the bucket started in 1995, That is more than likly a 93 - 94 bucket you have there. I saw a picture of a ls1 bucket the other day on ebay and it looked slim and longer than the lt1. You should be fine to install that one.
I took an old screw driver, heated it up and tacked the lid to the bucket. You might try this, it keeps the glue to a min.

Great guys, that's pretty much all I needed. So, it's okay for there to be a gap between the very top of the pump, and the hole at the top of the lid?
