i have a 1994 trans am that i think i may need to part with in the soon to near future. i bought it off ebay this past summer with a bad motor and tranny and thought it would be an easy fix that i could give my brother as a first car. but went a little too far with the mods..
MODS:
96 lt1 4 bolt block .030 over
speed pro powerforged pistons
eagle cast steel 5.7" rods
eagle cast steel 3.48" crank
speed pro moly rings filed for nitrous
all new engine bearings
new lifters
new hardened pushrods
new mellings pump and pick up
new freeze plugs
new timing chain
95+ timing cover & upgraded to a new GM vented opti
new plug wires
tr55's
GMPP lt4 hotcam kit
new temp sensors
new radiator
new corvette starter
mac shorty headers
3" catco cat
SLP loudmouth single slash tips
intrax drop springs
ls1 style ram air hood
ls1 injectors
MSD 6A box
performa built tranny with 2k stall with less than 500 miles on it
tranny cooler
madz28 tune
17x8 tsw rims
swapped the engine harness for a non hacked up one
the bad:
it has a dent in the passenger side rear fender about the size of a softball..
the driver seat is torn where you put your rear end.
its only got a 2.73 posi.
it could use drag radials or lca relocation brackets or both..
its a 13 year old car.. its not perfect.
i bought as a project for my 15 year old brother but once i got it together i came to the conclusion that its a hair too much for a 16 year old bone head. i am more interested in my corvette so i am going to need to find something a hair slower more along the lines of a stock lt1 or l98.. looking to get 6,000 for it. i've got more than that in it. runs great. drives great. looks good. was built with nitrous in mind but never actually installed a kit beyond a purge that comes out over the fog lights.
