yourzisweenie 03-25-2007, 03:27 PM Hey everyone, this is my first post on the site so thanks for the help in advance. I've done a lot of searching for previous posts, but did not find everything I needed. I'm about to install my pacesetter-mid headers and needed to know if I will need O2 extenders. I have a good set of gaskets, Y-pipe and locking bolts. I just wasn't sure if I will need extenders. I have a 95 Z28 and am in California, which is why I needed smog legal headers. (They are very anal about that stuff here) Thanks
ZLT195 03-25-2007, 04:02 PM If I remember they supply a splice kit not sure on that though. I think you can get them from ebay or from ThunderRacing.
custom95 03-25-2007, 04:39 PM My pacesetter lt's came with extensions, not sure about the mid's though. If they didn't come with them then you probably won't need them.
reamo04 03-25-2007, 05:21 PM i cut and spliced them. I would recommend getting the extensions from thunderracing.com for like $50/set, much easier, and u dont have to worry about ur soldering skills

I spliced mine. It's lots cheaper than buying extensions, and its really not hard to extend the wires off the O2 sensor.
camarozz95 03-25-2007, 07:14 PM when I did my headers I thought I could splice them and save some money, and it didn't work car ran like crap then i had to run my car in open loop until i could get new o2's cause i cut my other ones up, then i got the extentions witch is much eaiser just plug and play I recommend you do this.

yourzisweenie 03-25-2007, 10:12 PM Thanks for the help everyone. I ran into a new problem, I found out my far is a 95 OBD1 but had 2 cats, so I need to know chich headers to buy. I think I might but the single cat kit and switch to that as long as I can stip pass smog in CA. The new post in under exhaust named "95 z28 with 96 exhaust". Any help there will be appriciated. Thanks a lot
CamaroRacing12 03-26-2007, 04:20 PM F*ck emissions... Longtubes 0 cats w/ true duals dumped :)

Not worth it considering the fines he could receive.:)
Jared 3870 03-26-2007, 04:36 PM Yeah I would recommend TDs and no cats, but CA isn't very much fun. You could always go shorties with factory Y pipe. If I were you I would get some mids, and get a Y pipe made with dual cats like factory.
Romero155 03-27-2007, 02:16 AM hey where in Cali are you? Im in Orange County, Cypress area.
CamaroRacing12 03-27-2007, 03:03 PM eh sorry MA prolly isnt as bad as cali on emissions lol
yourzisweenie 03-28-2007, 12:06 AM Im in San Francisco. Yea, emissions are crazy around here. Some smog tech told me he wouldn't smog my car because my smog legal k&N CAI as missing the CARB number. For now I have to be happy with a decent power streetable smog legal car.

Proves my point earlier, just be sure to pick out your exhaust components that can provide you with a CARB sticker.
