Whats the biggest shot on LT1?

Is there a limit to what amount of NOS an lti can take due to the restrictions of intake and heads and opti-spark?

Concidering the bottom end was built strong. How much would be the limit? 400hp 600hp shot?

1000hp and 1000ft/lbs?

If the bottom end is built right.......biggest concern would be ignition.

But i would think gby the time you are ready to spray more than 300-400 you wont be relying on the optispark much anyway.

I have seen a few cars go with a 300 shot while keeping the opti,but the msd/mallory/etc box takes care of the high voltage

i was using a 400 shot last year on a fully built bottom end, ported heads, lt4 hotcam, with the compression lowered to 9.2:1. i ran an msd 6a and timing retard but used the stock coil and opti. had no problems. i'll probably step up to a 450 or 500 next year.
