Ya, I'm new. I see all the V6 bashing from Mr. Jackass, whatever.

I own two camaro's, one is a V6, the other is an LT1. Both are 89 RS's.

My V6 car was my first and I've had one for 6 years now.

Block
It has a 2.8 block, 3.1 crank, RWD 0.100" dish 0.060 over bore pistons, balanced.

Heads
Fully ported polished gasket matched, LS1 springs, 3-angle seats, 3/8" studs for the ex manifolds. 0.430" lift cam on 1.5 rockers, 208 duration. 2.5" mandrel exhaust, magnaflow muff.

Fuel control
17lb/hr injectors, 91 speed density computer, chip in progress (I have the stuff and am learning).

Tranny/Drivetrain
700R4, 1-2gear syncro deal, 10-17 cooler, shift kit, 4.11 gears, 2 series Auburn limited slip. 11.5" rear disk, aluminum PBR calipers. 16x8 GTA wheels, Ohtsu 245/45r16 tires. Willwood prop valve, 1" straight bore master cylinder. Boxed rear suspension, urethane everywhere. 32mm front bar, 24mm rear. KYB front struts, bilstein rears. Chassis is unmodified. 2930lbs wet no driver.

So there you go! I like my six, and I'm keeping it! So feel free to ask questions and you'll see me posting.

That's a pretty extensive list on that 2.8l. Sounds cool.

The motor mods cost about $1k. My 170k mile 2.8 finally toasted a bearing so I had to rebuild. Bummer :D

I've never run it on the 1/4 or dyno. I'm borrowing the computer equipment from a friend so I can reprogram the chip. Right now it has a "make it run" code in it, so it runs really rich. Once its reprogrammed I'm going to dyno it. I plan on doing some extensive intake work to it so I'm going to want before/after dyno numbers. I'm hoping for 200+/200 NA. Power adders aren't really my thing.

i never concidered putting that much into any of the v-6's i had but if you can put down that many ponies good for you cause my 85' 305 tpi stock is 215/nice job dude:bow:

Not bad, if it can put up the numbers that you hope it does, then it is running right up to par with a newer model f-body v6 with a moderate investment.

kind of like my story: my 97 3.8 just spun a bearing and became a project car... but 170K is some nice millage for a sprots car... wish I was that lucky (got about 140K)
