 Sometimes this car really pisses me off. It just seems like it likes to fight me! Well today I am in the process of putting the engine back in. I have been messing with it all day and for a few hours last night, and I still cant get the transmision shaft to slip into the clutch. I get it started and it goes in with about an inch left to go, but thats it. I have tried everything. I am using the through the top method with a cherry picker, and a floor jack under the tranny. It just seems like I cannot get the right angle between the tranny and engine. Oh well guess I will just keep trying. After all the money I spend on this thing sometimes I just wonder if it is really worth it.:( Well I feel better now that I wrote this. Im gettin back to it.

Sometimes you just need to take a time out and think about how best to do the job. It's tough working with heavy parts. If your engine is already mounted and the tranny wont line up perhaps you need to adjust the engine postition to get the tranny lined up and mount the engine once you get everything lined up. Whatever you do, don't force it if it doesn't want to go. JMHO:cool:

Undo the 6 bolts holding the subframe on and drop it down about a half an inch. Don't completely remove the bolts just back em out half an inch then use a prybar to make the subframe drop that half an inch. This should make getting the angle right easier. Once your tranny is lined up and in bolt up the tranny k-member tighten down bellhousing bolts then tighten up subframe bolts.
