Injuneer 03-15-2007, 11:20 PM What is the wheel size, including backspace? What is the tire size? These questions get asked here all the time, and I could put a link to the photos in the FAQ. Perhaps add a photo from the direct front, showing where the outer edge of the tire sits relative to the outside edge of the fender. Thanks for posting. Z-RATED94 03-16-2007, 12:15 PM Very nice, what tires are you going to run in the back, when you pick up the rear wheels? red 95 z28 lt1 03-16-2007, 12:17 PM they are 15x 3.5's with a 1.75" backspace, thanks to you Injuneer i would of never figured this out i also am using a spacer as stated in the wheel and tire FAQ Rears are comming soon! ill get more pics up soon when i come back from colorado. I just bought a new digital camera and happend to have the camaro out that day so took 2 pics to see what it would look like on the computer. red 95 z28 lt1 03-16-2007, 12:19 PM as for the backs ill be running 28x10.5's et drags i think not %100 sure on that Z-RATED94 03-16-2007, 12:21 PM as for the backs ill be running 28x10.5's et drags i think not %100 sure on that On the street, or just for the track? I'm thinking track only. red 95 z28 lt1 03-16-2007, 12:23 PM that is correct for the track Chevy16 03-17-2007, 12:32 AM those will look good MTL_Z28 03-19-2007, 12:52 AM I think they look really good, I sometimes wish I had got the pro stars instead of the draglites I have right now but oh well. I'm running 15x6's up front and 15x10's in the back (7.5 backspace) with 275 50 15 MT ET Street radials. I wanted something for street and track. BTW let me know how your wheels and tires fit in the back, I had to make some adjustments to make them fit (had to grind the brake calipers down a bit, grind the bump stop supports, and then adjust with my PHB). CamaroRacing12 03-21-2007, 11:28 PM how much did u pay for those anyways? i am currently in the market for some drag rims but cant deciede on what brand...i love the look of those prostars tho...right now they are my fav... MTL_Z28 03-22-2007, 01:55 AM On summitracing the Weld wheels cost between about 150$-200$ per wheel depending on the size. However summit makes imitation welds that are really inexpensive (less than 100$ per wheel) but they are only available in a limited number of sizes I think. 97BlackSSCamaro#142 03-22-2007, 08:43 PM im gonna run weld 5-stars --15x4's on the front and 15x10's with a 295/50/15 on the back with a 1/2" spacer to get them off the caliper and bumpstop block i'll post pics when i get them on,,,should i have any problems with the back Injuneer 03-24-2007, 01:50 PM On summitracing the Weld wheels cost between about 150$-200$ per wheel depending on the size. The Summit wheels (JEG's also has them, with their name on them) are not copies of the Pro-Stars. They are copies of the discontinued Pro-Star XP's. The XP's are a heavier 1-piece street wheel, not a drag wheel.... look the same, but that's where the similarity ends. reamo04 03-24-2007, 02:59 PM I think they look really good, I sometimes wish I had got the pro stars instead of the draglites I have right now but oh well. That's the best you can do with a 6" wide wheel. The spacing is the same as 15x10's with a 7.5" backspace except you need to run a 5/16" spacer on the front wheel, so in other words the front wheels stick out 5/16" more than the rears. You can see pics of my fronts here: http://web.camaross.com/forums/showthread.php?t=443043 Injuneer thanks for clearing that up about the summitracing wheels. reamo04 03-24-2007, 06:38 PM if i did 15x 8 up front, what backspace do i need? reamo04 03-26-2007, 10:08 PM anyone? MTL_Z28 03-26-2007, 10:15 PM 8" you would need 5.5 BS, 6 or 6.5 would actually be better with the spacer in the front you will need to run (wheel will be a bit more tucked in), but I don't think they make the 15x8 wheel with that spacing. reamo04 03-26-2007, 10:40 PM 8" you would need 5.5 BS, 6 or 6.5 would actually be better with the spacer in the front you will need to run (wheel will be a bit more tucked in), but I don't think they make the 15x8 wheel with that spacing. they make a 5.5" backspace, any idea if that'd work? MTL_Z28 03-26-2007, 10:44 PM It would definitely work, but what I'm saying is that it might be better to go with a 6 or 6.5 inch backspace if possible so that the fronts tuck under the fender a bit more since you will have the spacer in the front that will be pushing the wheels outward a bit more than the rears. rickssz 04-02-2007, 09:58 PM I cant grind and fit the wheels myself so I need to know if I do the 5/16 spacer and longer studs then the grinding isnt neccessary cause if it is I might as well just pay someone to grind more and dont use the spacer and studs or else Im pay twice for the same result??? MTL_Z28 04-02-2007, 11:36 PM I cant grind and fit the wheels myself so I need to know if I do the 5/16 spacer and longer studs then the grinding isnt neccessary cause if it is I might as well just pay someone to grind more and dont use the spacer and studs or else Im pay twice for the same result??? Are you talking about the front or rear wheels? The fronts require NO grinding to fit... just the wheel spacers. rickssz 04-05-2007, 11:29 PM Yeah I was talking fronts in either 3 1/2 or 5 or 6 inch. Probably 5 inch seems to be the best compromise. | ||
