Who has Walbro 255 In-tank Fuel Pump?

Anyone here have the Walbro 255 In-tankFuel Pump?

Did it come in a kit or just the pump itself?

Hard to install?

Just trying to get some infomation here cause mine is on its way out.

i bought the pump... came as a kit minus the wiring harness that boosts the voltage by one volt.

You can purchase a Walbro 255 pump by itself or in a kit specific for your vehicle. If you're looking to install one , I suggest the LT-1 kit as it is complete and has everything you need. You may also want to consider upgrading and purchasing the wiring kit for it as well. It is a quality piece!!!

I got the whole kit with wiring harness and the project was fairly easy. I also did the trap door method. Here are some pics of the finished project. I used copper rtv sealant and small rivits to seal up the hole. I used rivits because they are relitivly smooth on the bottom side. Not sharp like sheet metal screws. I can just lightly drill them out if I need to get back in there for any reason. Oh, and then I painted it after I rivited it down. The big globs of stuff that you see in the pics are from the factory not from my rtv.

If you get the Racetronix kit, which is a rebadged Walbro, it should drop right in without any further modification.

I dont have one, yet. I ordered my Walbro kit from Thunder Racing monday, recieved it today, and will be installing it tomorrow!

Keep your fuel bucket! With that kit I don't think you have any choice since the p/u screen only fits on the bucket and not on the pump.
Very straight forward install. You will have to cut some of the ribs out of the inside of the bucket in order for the pump to fit properly. Either a pair of dykes or a dremel will do the trick. The reason why is the stock pump has an offset inlet whereas the Racetronix is center so the ribs will interefere with the pump seating correctly. The reason why you want to keep the fuel bucket is (as long as you hook the return line into the bucket which is a very good idea) the fuel pump will always be submerged in fuel regardless of the level of fuel in your tank, thus keeping it cool.

I did'nt have to grind any of mine... it fit perfectly

didnt install mine yet, but tsp sent me the harness included :)

Do you have a diagram in how this is done?
Do a search for either "fuel pump install" or "trap door method". That should get you in the right direction. Once you open up the bucket you'll know exactly which ribs to cut out.

If it's an offset inlet then yes it will fit perfectly. If not then it may feel like it's seated all the way, but I'd bet money it's not.
