front sway bar remove & lift front end at track

my friend told me if i wanted to get the front of the car off the ground at the track, to remove the front sway bar. is this true? how does that work? Doesnt really sound like a good idea though.

Removing the front sway bar or at least unbolting one side of it aids in weight transfer, which can help in pulling the front tires off the ground, but other factors are involved as well.

i see. doesnt sound too safe though. if you lose control, regaining it might be a bit more difficult.

does it help get more traction to the rear wheels at the track, or just look good? Cause i wouldnt mind a nice photo of me launching with the nose off the ground. :-)

Well iam sure you still need some power to get the front of the ground.

the power will be. i have a bunch of junk about to go in. headers, clutch, rear, cam. i was just seeing if it was true, and was looking for that little extra umph to get the wheels up.
