Transmission Service at 80K Miles?

Currently the transmission has 80,000 Miles and shifts fine although at times, usually when the car is warmer I think it delays downshifting until you really get on the gas... I seriously doubt if the car has seen any transmission fluid changes or flushes before now. I purchased it with 40K on it and I have a bit of spare cash. I'm wondering if I should drop the pan and change the filter, have the transmission flushed, both, or nothing at all and let it grenade?

I'd at least change the fluid and go from there. Thats a lot cheaper than having the tranny rebuilt.

I would probably hold off on the flush, but would do the filter/fluid change.
