Need some LED help

I recently purchased the rest of the LEDs I needed to replace all exterior lamps and interior lamps except for the headlights(HID) and fogs(soon to be HID). I replaced the brake light lamps and had an odd issue. Only one of the two brake lights per taillamp lights up. Different configurations were tried but only one lights up. Could the LEDs not have enough pull to light them both up? What can I do to fix this?

Naturally, when I attempted to use the turn signal, I got the solid arrow because one of the lamps is not on. I do have electronic flashers replacing my thermal turn signal and hazard flasher. The clusters I bought for the brake lights look like they will def be bright enough so I want to get the other one firing to make a final judgement. BTW, my taillamps use 3057 lamps and this issue only came up when replacing the taillamps. Everything else including the front turn signals/DRLs work great

when u did this LED conversion all u did was change the bulbs to LED's? or did u have to change the whole configuration?? doing what ur doing seems like a great idea if all u have to do is change the bulbs

all I have been doing is buying the proper LED cluster with the proper base and plugging things in. It's been working flawlessly until this little hangup.

well, LEDs are directional.. you PROBABLY already know this, given that you know what you're doing.. But I would imagine something is screwed up with that.. If there's a way to plug it in the other way, swap it around. I'd try wiring together your own little circuit (outside of the car) and make sure they work

I realize they are directional, the cluster I purchased has 15leds around the side and 3 on the top face. I tried every configuration to get them both to light at the same time but no luck. It's either one lights per taillamp or none. I even swapped the ones that light up together and the one will never light. It's really weird and looks like all the juice is going to the one lamp and the one will only light when the other is plugged in. If I pop the regular lamps back in, all is well. It's ticking me off because judging by the brightness of the ones lighting up....these will work well.

this seems like one of those minor mishaps...and if u mess with it for a while it will work... best of luck to ya.... i bet things will work out for ya! :D

Get a test light and make sure all the wires that are supposed to have power actually do. Then make sure the LED bulb lights up in another socket. And finally, test the resistance in the stock bulb and the resistance in the LED bulb. Subtract the difference and get the nearest resistor possible to this value and splice it in.

Good luck.

Thanks for the help...I feel kinda dumb posting this but it seems in a weird sequence that I had to get the inside light lit first then flip the other for them both to work. I dunno but hey it works. I posted a thread with the finished product.
