Gauging Interest

Wanted to get everyone's opinions.

Myself and a few others wanted to know if anyone would be up for a cruise/photoshoot during the summer sometime?

I'm in the preliminary stages right now, but what I'm thinking about is having a cruise in the Central Florida area, which goes to/from 4 or 5 areas and provides photo opps for the participants. It would be free, just a cruise idea. (Unless I got a Professional Photographer which I would want everyone to equally help me out with paying for that service, but I'm really not sure about this)

I've been wanting shots of my car for a few months now, but I'm just an amateur photographer, however, I will gladly offer my mediocre skills and camera to take pics of my car and any others.

Any ideas for photo spots that I can take a ride to and plan this thing out? Thanks.

Sounds like fun. Always think the speedway is a good idea.

Speedway is a wonderful idea. You think that you could speak to someone about it, and see what kind of limitation that we will have, or if we could even get permission to do it? The outside parking lot is overdone, but acceptable. I kinda wanted something a little unique and that is definitely one of the ideas that I had, maybe do it at or in the tunnel, one car at a time of course.

I'm completely up for suggestions.

Ideas something with water in the background, fountains, ECT..., bridges,

Another cool place would be an airport photos in and around a hangar, next to a plane, photos on the runway, ect…

I will look into it, but I doubt it. I am a nobody per diem help out there. We might do better sending a letter from this club or use mine and ask permission to do a photo shoot. I will work on that.

Airport is a fantastic idea. Spruce Creek Fly In used to have a show on saturday evenings open to non-residents. Let me find out about that, and I have a friend with a Cessna 310 (twin engine) that will probably bring it out for me for a backdrop. That or we could just go to his hangar home in the fly in. I will work on that!!!

Okay, I am throwing out all of the ideas that I have heard from everyone, and that I have. NONE of these are set in stone, and things might be added and taken away, Just trying to get everyone's thoughts.

Daytona Speedway Tunnels entrance, not actually going into the speedway.
Daytona Hooters
Daytona Bridge (Can't remember the name of it, but the new one that was just constructed a few years back. The cars would be parked next to it, not on it, so the bridge would be the back-drop.)
Pictures on a runway with an airplane used as a back-drop.
Pictures in an Airplane hanger.
One of the mansions in Lake Forest in Sanford. (This would have a fountain in front, and the entrance tot eh house behind, two garage doors to your left and right.)
One of the larger houses in Heathrow.
And there are probably things that I'm forgetting.

What does everyone think about either May 5th or May 12th? Also, any ideas that you might have a connection with that are not listed above? I only want to have 4 maybe 5 locations, and I will list out the approximate times that we will be at the locations. For Instance:

Orlando Parking Garage: Sunrise for about an hour
Lake Forest Mansion: 8:00 am for about an hour

So on and so forth.

Daytona Hooters has agreed to sponsor the event
Ed with the City of Orlando is helping me find locations for photography. He is the main photographer for the City of Orlando.
Parking Garages in Orlando is a no go. The shots that I was hoping for are none existent.
Can not get permission from the Speedway due to Traffic issues, so no picture in front of the tunnels.
Daytona Bridge Haven't had the opportunity to check the backdrops on this location yet.

I have some other places that I'm looking into as well.

Parking Garage is confirmed. It's the one off of Boone, next to the City of Orlando (City Hall).

Damn, thats not summer! I better get a move on. I just dropped the engine in, and still need paint! Summer is june july august!
