RacerTim 02-15-2007, 07:39 PM I'm kinda curious to what everyone thinks. Throw out some ideas then I'll make another post with an poll and see who agrees to what. But basically, reply with a problem or part you wish someone had available. Describe your problem and what the part would do to fix it.
2000GTP 02-15-2007, 07:43 PM It would be nice to see some aftermarket support for engine blocks. It seems there is alot of support for aftermarket blocks for the LSx crowd.
RacerTim 02-15-2007, 07:51 PM What did you have in mind? Everyone try and be as specific as possible.
CCRJon 02-16-2007, 11:02 AM It would be nice to have a few more header & y-pipe options for my car.
All of the local mechanics in my area are ball busters for visual inspections of exhaust systems since PA went to the ODBII computer test for all 97+ vehicles.
This means that you have to keep the cats in their stock locations. So, no long tubes for me. The only ways that I can accomplish any kind of upgrade is to put on :
1. Shorty headers that attach to the stock y-pipe (yuck!)
2. Shorty headers that attach to a Random Technology dual cat y-pipe. ($675 for the y-pipe only)
3. Mac mid-tube headers with a MAC catted y-pipe. ($985 for the y-pipe coated from jet-hot)
Both the Random tech and the MAC y-pipe are close enough to stock to pass a visual inspection.
That's it!
RacerTim 02-16-2007, 12:06 PM Anyone else?
MARKTHOMASBRAND 02-16-2007, 12:15 PM Hi,
It would be nice if somebody made a decent headlamp conversion kit for the 93-97 cars,by decent I mean one that actually lights up the road with the low beams LOL.
I can see why GM gave the later cars proper headlamps.
All the best,Mark.
Ken S 02-16-2007, 02:54 PM Streetable, Effective brake ducts..For the 4th gens.. from stock, to the more popular big brakes systems (from LS6 Z06 brakes to the porsche and stoptech big brake kits)
From what I gather, the hard part is getting all the ducting, hoses, air routed with the proper ground clearance and tire clearance. Plenty of people have made their own, but some of them usually have a drawback, like reduced ground clearance, or not able to turn your wheels lock to lock(on the track you live with it, but on the street it makes life difficult). Or, its just not the most effective design for good even cooling. or, it will only work on a specific brake kit. Or, simply, it was a one off that someone custom made themselves.
myslowcamaro 02-16-2007, 02:58 PM i seen a project in the works on tv a while back that would be nice.....
its a rear that is switch operated, controlling a magnet to select between posi and detriot locker. neat for weekend warriors
xdamagedx 02-16-2007, 03:10 PM Maybe not just MY car but carb-ed small blocks in general: a complete nitrous system, eg-window switch, FPSS, etc. Seems like it would save alot of the hassle of piecing it all together.
RacerTim 02-16-2007, 07:33 PM What about any cosmetic pieces? Keep the ideas coming everyone!

Whats wrong with those, aside from being crazy expensive(350 for just low beams  )
camarolvr69 02-17-2007, 12:01 AM lt1 parts in general: Heads, Cams, Blocks, INTAKES, Headlights, White face gauges for my 97' with analog odometer, Brakes, Affordable ignition systems, LS1 style intakes, and the list goes on....
Silver 02-17-2007, 11:46 AM a red distributor cap
matLT1 02-17-2007, 12:22 PM A few things I could list since I have been having difficulties with my M6 conversion:
1) The m6 shift plate for 94-96 F-bodies
2) A bullet proof bellhousing that is actually compatible with our factory clutch and tranny.
3) A bolt-on exhaust that dumped before the axle (TSP has one for the ls-1, but not lt-1 cars)
4) A better selection of aftermarket cylinder heads
5) Less expensive ways to beef up our axles :)

jakesz28 02-17-2007, 07:39 PM A good intake manifold longer runners, air gap, increased rpm range.
PWR-TRIP 02-18-2007, 05:54 PM The sad thing is, my friends make fun of my car cuz it's an american car and they think all american cars are garbage. the good thing is i always smoke them in a race. I love american muscle. :)
I think i'll start looking for new friends :D
CALL911 02-18-2007, 07:35 PM 3 things;
-A kit that includes everything needed to change the Opti setup to the coil pack setups the LS1's have.
-A kit to change the PCM of the LT1 to a 3 bar MAP sensor one to better tune LT1 FI cars.
-And finally, a different headlight setup for the 93-97 Camaro's. Although this is already being done currently. PM me for details.

mdacton 02-18-2007, 08:02 PM a straight up 90/10 race shock for the front of a 4th gen that doesnt cost you 3 paychecks....
I never understood why noone like lakewood or comp engineering made them to begin with
OBE1 95Z28 02-18-2007, 08:03 PM Another vote for the M6 shift console; I understand that interior parts are only made for 10 years.
Z-RATED94 02-19-2007, 12:37 AM I have a simple request. I wish RK Sport still made the black plate that went over the cubby hole so I had a place to mount some more gauges and swithes instead of having to fab one up myself.
bigdog96Z 02-19-2007, 12:30 PM Why can't someone make a set of headlights (for the 93-97 cars) that can use the replacable bulbs that fit in every other headlight assembly?
95camaroinok 02-19-2007, 11:09 PM ok heres one for ya... and I realize I may be alone in this and i know everybodys usually tryin to take weight off the car.... but.....
I want a company to come out with a decently priced, good quality aftermarket fiberglass/plastic replacement kit.... as in METAL. either body gauged steel or aluminum or something, just something thats stronger, more durable, and something that'll hold up to impacts and weather changes.... Something that'll make that daily drive that much safer with a better chance of driving it home after an accident. Maybe I miss the old metal of toys from the past, dont get me wrong, I love my 4th gens, but It does need to be a little more tough in the body department, not just performance needs to be tough. I personally would swap fenders, bumper covers, DOORS, hatch, tail panel, and roof panel for a metal counterpart in a heartbeat. the added weight? Build the motor up some more.... thats how I see it. --I'd rather drive around with a dented door or fender than a cracked/big hole or completely gone body part. Anybody out there been stuck home with the baby in the garage or tarped cause some idiot made their door disentigrate backing into it?
95LT1Z28 02-19-2007, 11:22 PM M6 shift plate for '94-'96 cars.
Red/Graphite cloth interior found in early LT1 cars.

Aftermarket intakes that make power gains.

All of the above and some good LT4 heads.
A decent looking access door for the fuel pump.
Bud M 02-21-2007, 12:45 PM A Ford 8.8 center section with cast in torque arm mount that will take f body axle tubes
and while I'm dreaming, an aluminum LT1 block

Z95m6 02-21-2007, 11:51 PM A nice sturdy strong, wiper motor. I know i've been through 3 of them so far. I finally bought a new one at autozone so now i have free replacements for life.
vernw 03-22-2007, 01:44 PM Something along the lines of a 275-40x16 tire, preferably something with a fair ti decent daily driver compound (would fit 16x9.5 wheels)
theratdude64 03-22-2007, 02:15 PM Another vote for good headlights. I really like that HID setup, but dayum.
A Composite headlight setup would rawk *is that right word? Where its not a sealed glass light like it is now, but one you can screw bulbs into like everything else*
That and better wiper arms that arent retarded n have the reverse hook thats a beast to get wipers for.

There's a thread I started last fall called "who would be interested in a new headlight assembly for the 93-97 Camaro's?". It got enough attention that a company called "FocuzTech" decided to make them. They are currently being made, and should be completed sometime this fall. For more info check the thread out in the appearence section.
theratdude64 03-22-2007, 02:21 PM Ooo very very nice. I saw that thread but it was so big i didnt read through it all, and most things I saw were totally different looking from stock. I just want a "crystal" lookin clear light lol. Ive seen a black 3rd gen with em that looked DAMN good
CALL911 03-22-2007, 02:29 PM There have been only ideas projected to the company so far. Nothing has been posted or shown of what the new ones will look like yet. Since I was the one who started the thread, I have been in close contact with them, and been helping them out with a lot of Q/A. They are probably going to consist of 2 Hella 50mm bulbs inside an enclosed headlamp. There will be several variations you could order of these inlcuding angel eyes, Halo, HID bulb excange, and possibly even an additional LED marker light, not to mention the inside body of the headlight will most likely be able to be a color of your choice (color of your car, clear, chrome ect).
More details, and concept pictures will undoubtingly unfold as the production of the new headlamps unfold.
theratdude64 03-22-2007, 02:31 PM *drool* Awesome!
chuck 03-23-2007, 12:34 AM I would like to see a bolt on kit for a transmission and diff cooler, but realize this is probably not a high demand item.
Next would be a bolt-in 8.8 Ford axle, or better yet an aluminum center GM 8.5" bolt-in axle. Something for the road racers that want to drag race every so often.
Last would be an aero nose for LS1 T/A's that eliminates the "scoops" between the hood and nose, along with the fog light holes and lower "gills" on the outside. Basically something to clean it up cosmetically, while improving aerodynamics.

Granateli already makes this. I believe you may have to have the 97+ style dash, and then you have to send it in to get it upgraded, but I know for a fact there are 200 MPH F-body speedo's out there.
I have also seen the lambo door thing done on an F-body as well. There is no kit for this, but you can have it custom made for your car. (It doesn't look good on an F-body IMO)
BradcTA 03-24-2007, 09:12 AM How about a cupholder?
JakeRobb 03-24-2007, 10:09 AM How about a cupholder?
 So true!
Not many LS1 guys posting in here. Here are a few things I'd like to see:
Headlight assembly for an LS1 Camaro that uses modern projector lenses, and does not have those lame halo things in it.
A truly complete turbo kit, and STS doesn't count.
More aftermarket wheel options! We simply don't have as many choices as the import crowd has. In particular, I'd like to see more forged aluminum. :)
Center stack conversion kit making it easier to do a professional-looking double-DIN stereo or in-dash LCD.

I think the Granatelli setup works for 93-02 TA's and 97+ Camaro's. Also as said they do make lambo door kits that can be put on Fbodies.

I have found an empty soda can in my previous f-body inside the door. Damn Canadians were too lazy to throw stuff in the garbage cans or on the ground near the assembly line so they just tossed it into the doors. Found empty potato chip bags too.
