pacesetter long tubes and stock y-pipelt1 beast 02-13-2007, 07:04 PM Im supposed to recieve my pacesetter lt tommorrow and im wondering if its possible to bolt them up to the stock y pipe if i cut the y pipe back a little. Thanks! 2000GTP 02-13-2007, 07:06 PM Its not even close. You will have to get the Pacesetter off-road y-pipe. 69gto96z 02-13-2007, 07:26 PM Its not possible, you must either run true duals or buy the off road y pipe from pacesetter. Or you could run open headers ;) 94_firechicken 02-13-2007, 10:04 PM or you could get yourself some highflow cats and a universal x-pipe with some dumps = awesome on an LT1 FryedClutch 02-13-2007, 10:35 PM well technically you can make anything work but in this case you would have to fabricate your own y pipe if you have the tools and the skillz to do that by all means do but if you dont you would be paying an exhaust shop well over the 130 it costs for the pacesetter piece lt1 beast 02-15-2007, 01:18 PM i never considered running open headers, would that make my motor run too lean? 2000GTP 02-15-2007, 01:20 PM i never considered running open headers, would that make my motor run too lean? Considering how close the 02 sensors are towards the ends of the headers, the incoming rushes of air could give wacky readings to the 02 sensors. I would either put on the correct y-pipe or do a true dual setup. lt1 beast 02-15-2007, 01:23 PM yes, that thought was in the back of my mind, i want true duals but they are difficult to fabricate so ill probably end up going with a massive single exhaust since the flow numbers are the same and i am considering an sts turbo. Another question i have is will the knock sensor go off becuase of the long tubes? 2000GTP 02-15-2007, 01:25 PM yes, that thought was in the back of my mind, i want true duals but they are difficult to fabricate so ill probably end up going with a massive single exhaust since the flow numbers are the same and i am considering an sts turbo. Another question i have is will the knock sensor go off becuase of the long tubes? Its a possibility that there may be some "false knock" present because of the addition of a noisier exhaust. The only way of knowing is to put the car on a scanner and get a live readout. If you are getting false knock, try using an LT4 knock module, they only cost around 30 bucks. lt1 beast 02-15-2007, 01:28 PM whats the difference between the lt4 knock sensor and the lt1 sensor 2000GTP 02-15-2007, 01:34 PM Heres an informative link: http://www.projecttransam.com/projects1.asp | ||
