Hey guys, i have a dilemma. What to get? My choices are 410 gears and Lou's+Pro 5.0, or a cam package. I currently have a Loudmouth, lid, sfcs, stb. Obviously my concers are that for the 410s they could possibly whine real loud and with the cam i will void my drivetrain warranty. My 01 SS has 15k miles on her. Or, you can give me other options. I have about 600-700 bucks i can spend.

Thanks a lot guys!

I say 410 gears and Lou's+Pro 5.0 shifter.
Risk is all part of the game. And 410's are fun, and will shave off a few on the 1/4 mile. Maybe more then a cam

I now have a gear waiting for install, i say gear! you need a shifter asap.. the stock one sucks

I would do the gears first. It will give you a better "seat of the pants" acceleration improvement. Besides, going to a larger cam usually requires some PCM tweaks to smooth everything out and usually costs a little bit of low end torque to add more top end power. If you already have a 4.10 gear in it, you won't miss any low end loss with the cam change later.

Feel free to contact me if you have questions on either.

I agree, the 4.10s will give you a kick in the pants. And you definitely need an aftermarket shifter. Just about all stock shifters are sloppier than they ought to be.

Are 4.10's in a 10 bolt strong enough if you just run on street tires? How much do they run with parts and install?

Thanks,
Brandon
