Camaro door handles

How do u open the door on the new camaro? Look at the handles? Where do u grip to open? Maybe im missing something here.

If I remember right, they are push handles rather than pull handles... if that makes sense. Instead of lifting or pulling on the handle, you push on it to open the door... or something of the sort.

I totally overlooked that, that is a pretty unique feature. Definitely something that I am not used to on a GM car, or any car for that matter.

I belive thas how Aston's are as well.

Wow thats is sweet! Much better than anything else out there IMO. Shaved handles are alright, but don't work on some cars. And the new Vettes look kinda goofy too, but the touchpad is sweet.

That looks a little unwieldy.

I kind of like to see the door handles to go, dont get me wrong i think they look good and good for areodynamics. The reason i dont like them is because if it snows or freezing rain imagine how hard it would to be to open and you have to open with two hands.

Darn, so interesting too. I just hope the ones they replaced 'em with blend into the door really well.

I don't know if the past can be a prediction for the future of what the Camaro's door handles will be, but...

..let's assume we're not going to get a square key and a round key upon delivery of our 2009 Camaros. At least that will mean we won't be getting GM's venerable door handle with the lock cylinder placed next to it like every other Camaro made, and there will likely be no butterfly ignition column with a flasher that pulls awkwardly out from the side. :lol:

That'll prolly be changed once it hits production. They seem problematic, possibly brittle to the pissed off driver... Road rage anyone?

those door handles are not practical for production imo. I would feel like I was going to break it off and it reminds me too much of a little miata door handle...

I'd like to see the early 90's Lumina/Beretta style handles myself. I always like how they appreard integrated into the side rather than a seperate piece.

I have a black Camaro and the door handles wobble. SO when you open the door it scrapes the paint off the handles. Looks like ass.

I have been thinking about this. It seems that due to crash standards, it might be an impossibility to avoid them. I am preparing myself to accept this fact. :|

Well, keep in mind what I said what that I'd like to see a door handle similar to that on the Beretta and Lumina Z34 pictured above, but down in the edge of the door since the Camaro won't have a B-pillar 'like they had'.

If the Camaro has a B-pillar it's assumed they will hide it behind the glass so it at least appears to be one extended window when closed. There most likely won't be an edge to the rear of the door like the Beretta/Lumina, it'll just be glass with no 'surround' as in previous Camaro's.

Or at least that's what I assume myself.

That looks pretty official to me. LOL

Looks like they will go for the same effect that the Camaro hopefully will as well though. That B-Pillar doesn't look like it will be on the outside, but will be hidden behind glass or something.
