Dream system for 96 on a budget

Help me pick Headers ect ... I have stock now with Borla cat-back.
Please let me know what you would go with and what I can look to pay.

What is your total budget? Do you want the best quality headers or a mediocre set? Do you have emissions regulations?

Emissions regulations a must, good headers not Kook's all though those are very nice but cost is not in the budget. Question can you still pass emissions without cat's and do people run a Y-pipe too replace cat's Sorry for all the questions but I need to learn.

It depends, if you have a plug-in style test, you can get the car to pass without cats by running 02 simulators in the rear 02 sensor harnesses or have the PCM tuned accordinally. However, if they do a visual test as well, you obviuosly will not pass. With long tube headers, you have to run a different y-pipe which is usually an off-road y-pipe without any cats.

Can't find a catted Y for some reason.. Averages around $375.

Go with the Macs. Theyre a good header with good plug access. If not macs, I'd go with SLP or RK Sport/AS&M.

You'll have no emmissions issues with any of the headers I named unless you live in California. If you relocate your cats using long tubes you may have a problem.

Going long tubes is also gonna cost more than a mid lenght set. With LT's the headers alone will cost you as much as a set of Macs. Then youll have to get a y pipe for another $125-$150, 2 cats which will run you atleast $100 and then the labor. Just something to think about if you are on a budget...
