new best for my "real" pontiac

this is my 74 formula at full weight (~3900~) on ET streets at gainesville. weather was almost ideal, temps low 60's, no humidity or wind to speak of.

i got done relocating the fuel pump in time to get to the track last night (thanks to some help from a local shop). i got new best times across the board, but mph is still down due to fuel issues. the run looked like this: 1.66 60 ft., 7.59 1/8 and 12.02 1/4. the car shut off right after the first run and i didn't get to make another pass. after some investigation we discovered that the fuel pressure was set too high and a piece of trash appears to have clogged the regulator (the pump works fine but the regulator spikes the needle). i blew out the new lines with high pressure air before installing them, but something must have made it in there. i'm pretty confident now that the car will run in the 11's when it gets fuel on the entire run. last night it didn't pull all the way to redline in 1st or 2nd gear.

that is great. what motor do you have in that? wht gears? what rpm do you shift at?
i just picked up a 455/th400 and now i am starting my search for a nice 69 to make into a street/strip monster:D

it's a .030 over 1970 455 block with stock crank/rods and TRW forged flat-top pistons. here's a copy and paste from my sig:

the car has working power windows, defroster and radio. it also has stock size rims and street tires on the front. this winter i'm going to a solid roller valvetrain. i'll probably (if i can afford all this stuff) get racing rims/skinnies up front, a new set of ET streets that will be screwed to the rims, and a 12 gallon fuel cell to replace the stock fuel tank. my immediate goal is to make one pass in the 6's (1/8 mile) at this weight on the ET streets and stock d-port heads. we are debating whether this is possible without some weight reduction.

i pulled the regulator, inspected it, and blew it out. that didn't help...the gauge was still pegged and the car shut off after a minute or so. i took off the gauge and sprayed carb cleaner on it. the gauge started working the 2nd time i started it after that. i adjusted the pressure up to 7 psi and it idled fine. gave it gas to ~3000~ rpm and it felt fine. we'll see what happens tomorrow at the track.
