I hope that the interior gets a redo. A gated shifter would be cool...Ferrari-ish. I would like to see the IP contain all the guages, and none mounted infront of the shifter.
I would like to see the tail lights go to full circle and not the semi-thing they have now.
Same goes for the tail pipes.

Gauge (sorry, "gage") cluster -- I prefer simple and readable vs overstyled.

I don't like the giant exhaust tips, either, but that's easy to fix.

Guage cluster must be modernized. I'm talking even the font....the font on the Mustang's guages is a nightmare: small, retro, closely spaced. Impossible to read at a glance.

I'm kind of neutral on the console guages. It's a unique touch, but again, they aren't positioned conveniently. And I've always said DON'T force me to buy HUD because I can't read the silly guages cleanly.

I'd say change the grill but I'm not sure what else could be done with it.

Guage display is a concern for me. The center console guages are ok, but they better be clean and easy to read.. maybe make that digital display in the middle of the guages display the center console guage read out too..

The wheels are a bit too large for my likes too.. on a sports car i think 19's are about the limit.

1) I hate the interior...mostly the gauges. Maybe it's those horrible gauges that makes me hate the rest of the interior though.

2) I have issues with the front end. I don't like the recessed grill and I'm not crazy about those headlights either.

dash, guages, shifter, and those console guages that nobody liked when they came out in 69. i mean who looks down to the console for important info. information should be layed out in the cluster. modern like holdens would be nice.

No need to change a thing. It's perfect as is.

If the rear taillights were changed it would lose almost all it's 'menacing sneer'. They'd better not TOUCH the taillights.

If I had to choose something to have changed, I'd say the interior.

Dash, width and the exhaust covers need to go. G8's gauges are more 69 than the concept, I like those. Thats it. I like the console gauges and the tail lights have grown on me being somewhat 67-68.

For me it's has to be the grill with the lights. I love the dual headlight look, it gives it the 3rd and 4th gen cues and makes the grill smaller and makes the car look meaner. That for me is the biggest thing that has to change on the car.....if they don't....I can wait ;)

Electric Power Steering.

I'm sure it cuts down on weight and raises fuel economy, but I really hate it in my Cobalt. It's fine for daily driving but it sucks like a 5 dollar whore in fast sweepers with mid-corner bumps or during fast transition moves. I can't really push the car because sometimes I'm not sure what the front end's doing.

Not desireable in a car that's going to get driven as hard as the Camaro.

The car, for me, is just about perfect. If anything was going to be changed, I would want a corp. radio. I dont say that because they are the best in the world, but because they can be changed. I can just see trying to put a different radio in the car as it is. I once ordered a kit for a guy to put an aftermarket radio in a 98 Ford Taurus, and the faceplate kit that is normally 20-30 dollars was like 150 because it includes new controls for the A/C. That is why I want a stock radio, and maybe they can offer a really good upgrade that could actually fit. (The radio & A/C are the only part of the interior that I would change.) The only other item on the car that worries me, and I may get flamed over saying this, is the gas cap. I think it looks awesome but I am worried that after filling up a couple of times that I will hate it. I hope that I wont but I guess time will tell.

Gauges could be a deal breaker for me. I don't want to be looking at that while I'm driving.

This is why i think the interior is going to go through a major revision. I think that for the majority of people it is a love/hate kind of thing, and from my experiences there are more peopl on the hate side of the fence.

GM will have to develop an interior that is in-line with the mainstream that will not completely dissuade people from buying the car. One that people can certainly live with even if they are not completely in love with the interior.

Personally, as much as I absolutely LOVE the exterior of the car, I just can't see staring at that hideous interior every day. But I am confident that GM will pull it off in the production version.

Why? I can' think of a single chevrolet made in the past 20 years that has what would reasonably be called a nice interior for it's time. Even the corvette lags for the price range it's in, my GTO interior is a lot nicer than the C5 / C6. I am fully expecting the camaro interior to dissapoint and praying that holden exports the next GTO too, because the only thing worse than chevy interiors for the past 20 years have been the pontiacs.

I haven't had the chance to look inside a newer chevy car, but I would say that their truck and SUV interiors for the newer models are supurb. I have an '02 Silverado and think the interior is very cheap, and like you had not been overly pleased with GM interiors until recently, but I think the new truck and SUV interiors look much more refined.

I am also fairly impressed with the pontic interiors as of late, like on the G6s. Again, before the '05 (or there abouts) MYs the Pontiacs looked like every other GM, but I think they are doing a good job of differentiating their product lines now.

i don't mind the acutal guage cluster, it's the face of the guages that bothers me... make em normal

don't like the center console guages.. too inconvenient a location...

don't like the scoop above the grill..

don't like the fake exhaust outlets, real pipes would be just fine

the side mirrors are too skinny

the wheels are too big

the gas cap should be on the side like normal cars, not on top of the rear fender

the trunk opening is a bit small, the lid should go down the the bumper or so

not much headroom, should be taller

too wide

the radio should be a regular factory unit

Keep it just like it is, just make sure the stripes are painted and not vinyl.

Alot of you guys are criticizing the rims, but you have got to remember that not every customer is going to be as old fashioned as some of us are. Nowadays bigger is better. And it was the lack of marketing towards the "hip" crowd that hurt the 4th gen so much.

The 4th gens didn't become "cool" or "in" with the mainstreams until AFTER they stopped making them.

And with todays technology, a 20 inch forged alluminum wheel with a low profile tire can weigh the same if not less as a steel 16 with a granny tire.

I can live with a production like interior of the car but I do not want it to feel as cheap as the Mustangs.

The material used in the Stang makes my GP feel like a Cadillac and the 04 GP is nothing to brag about.

The one thing I do not want to see is any use of scoops or add ons that do not work. I know there are goverment regs on drive by noise. I would rather see them left off if they do not work.

The GTO and G 6 GXP fake scoops are a good example of what Chevy needs to avoid.

Also lets not over do the retro thing. This cars as a foot in the past but one foot in the future. For the benifit of the cars future I hope we don't see a reuse of a bunch of names like ZL1 etc that really have little to do with the present car. I would rather see some fresh ideas or at least change the names to a ZL2 etc. Time to build on what retro we have and build a new history not repeat all of it.

I may be one of the few people who loves the styling of the interior BUT...

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y143/DC2uned/2006-Chevrolet-Camaro-Concept-Dashb.jpg

I can see that being a real nightmare when attempting to guess your exact speed. "I'm sorry, officer. I was trying to keep the speedometer at 2/5 past the large 50 there to get as close as possible to 60. I guess I was speeding?" As much as it might take away from the art deco style of the gauge cluster, some intermediary notches to help with that would be pretty crucial, in my mind.

Love the shifter...love the gauges by the shifter, but I sure hope they're not communicating anything important since I assume I'm not going to have the ability to glance at them while driving.

Now having never sat in the concept and of course having never driven it, maybe all these things work with no problems in the real world. One more thing -- the steering wheel looks kinda cool, but does having a shape like a woman's birth control diaphragm help in some way?
