Patriot 02-06-2007, 07:10 PM I need new tires . I have a 1992 Camaro Z-28 with 245/50/Z16 . I never drive in the rain . Any suggestions on which tires are the best . These are the ones I've looked at so far .
BFGoodrich G Force T/A KDW ?
Goodyear Eagle HP Ultra Plus ?
Goodyear Eagle GT-HR ?
Goodyear Eagle RS - A ?
Dunlop SP Sport A2 Plus ?
Thankx , AJ
lazer 02-06-2007, 08:03 PM I have been looking for tires also, seem to have it down to three brands
Yokohama AVID V4S
Yokohama AVID T4
Firestone Firehawk Indy 500
These are all season tires 245-50-16
Fuzion ZRi
summer tire 245-50-16
I do not need tires till spring time, I have a 92 RS.
I have a set of the Fuzion ZRi on my 96 Impala SS and like them alot, but in real cold & snow they suck, just a three season tire. The price is right tho.

If you want the best, get the BFG KD's. Since you don't drive it in the rain, don't bother with the KD(WET) tires.

Rice Killer87 02-09-2007, 10:20 AM Totally agree w/ stanghunter. I had KDWS's on my IROC and loved them, great handling tire...so im sure the regular KD's are a little better than that.
robvas 02-09-2007, 11:10 AM Nitto drag radials? :)
Stay far away from anything Goodyear except the F1 GS-D3
Wild Willy 02-09-2007, 11:21 AM The Avids are cheap, but worth what you pay for them- handling so-so, and they wear pretty quickly-
I have had a couple sets of the Firestone, liked them- wore well, predictable handling- Worth it in my book
92BLKL98 02-09-2007, 01:51 PM I like my BFG KDW's great handling, I don't like to drive it in the rain only if I have to. Pretty good off the line, although I have not run them on the drag strip they do feel better than the Faulken Zeix I had before.:thumb: :thumb:
stanghunter211 02-09-2007, 02:33 PM BFG's have really hard sidewalls. They SUCK at the strip. Don't try it, you're 60's are going to be horrible

Patriot 02-09-2007, 08:07 PM Thankx for the feedback guys . :thumb:
The BFG G Force T/A KDW's or KD'S looks like the #1 choice of you guys so far .
I'm down to 2 choices now .
BFG G Force T/A KD'S
or
Goodyear Eagle RS - A

don't
they wear like crap and don't have all that great traction
1987IROC350 02-09-2007, 11:25 PM I bought KHUMO and like 'em ok. They really do better than people think. They did really good in the rain until they got 15K miles on them. They do wear quicker than the name brands. I plan to get BF Goodrich g-Force T/A KDWS. I have KHUMO 245/50-16 on the front and 255/50-16 on the rear. They really help on take off.

Wait a minute, you live in Louisiana and you dont have rain to drive in :p come on dude lol.
kandied91z 02-15-2007, 10:23 AM is money an issue? the best replacement i've ever found for the factory stock was the michelin pilots. their h rated worked nicer then the z rated comparable bfg. but, being sponsored by bfg i must tell you the kdw 2's were a decent tire as well. i've had just about all the brands and if i can spring the money the michelins always get it, bfg is a close second though.
i currently run michelin pilot sport 2's when i don't have to do a show.
;)
at $650 a tire though i don't run them on my rs which i try to daily drive. for that i use some off the wall tire that i can get reasonably.
:D
I Like NeoGens...
There a knock off nitto Tire
I have read reviews on them as best buys, and I have them and LOVE them
they are decent in the rain and hook up like mad for handling and acceleration
They are only about 120 a tire too, so burn them up and don't care....thats what I do anyway..
Just my .02
kandied91z 02-16-2007, 11:45 AM $120 a tire for a 16 is expensive you can get almost anything in that range if you search well.
Patriot 02-17-2007, 02:23 PM Speed Demon , it's doesn't rain all the time in Louisiana . I also have 2 S-10's for the rain days . LOL:D
Critter 02-17-2007, 03:38 PM falkin or nitto 55's
Zepher 02-17-2007, 10:04 PM Looks like the KD doesn't come in a 245/50/16 size. that is odd since they have 15, 16, 17 and larger, but not 16's in that specific size.
KDW or Nitto 555 is what I would choose.
LiENUS 02-18-2007, 01:40 AM I love my cooper zeons, W rated last ~20k miles and great traction, cost about 110 a peice though... but you can find them under 100 if you shop enough.
1987IROC350 02-18-2007, 03:33 AM So did you get tires yet?
Wild Willy 03-02-2007, 02:46 PM Isn't BF Goodrich owned by Michelin? Sort of like how Bridgestone owns Firestone- who knows who makes the tires you end up buying?
stealthram92z 03-04-2007, 11:16 PM maybe you could think about nitto's I love them good luck
Juiced91Z 03-07-2007, 05:59 AM M/T et street radials:cool: :D :death: but more seriously for a street car.. id say the nitto tripple 5's or the 555r's if you want DR's
