Few questions about this tranny.

I've only had the car for a few days now and i'm starting to think there may be something wrong.


1st of all, all the gears are hard to into in general. I cant just flick my wrist I have to use my triceps to find the gears. Not sure if its normal, but just curious.

2nd, it hates reverse. Especially when cold I find, sometimes I have to use 2 hands to get it to pop into reverse.

3rdly, I find myself missing a lot of shifts. Sometimes when I miss the shifter will just lock up and wont do anything for a few seconds and then I can grab another gear.

Again I dont know if all this is normal for a T56 or there is something wrong?

Definately something wrong, probably needs a synchro kit (grinding, popping out of gear, etc). I just ordered a synchro kit with carbon fiber blockers from t56rebuilds.com for $169 and i have the service manual, so im going to install them myself.

If the clutch is not releasing cleanly it can do this, but usually it will grind when attempting to engage reverse. This should be easy to do.

I think its probly the clutch is shot....hard to diagnose over the net tho
