I think it looks like a cupholder, and it ruins the look of the quarter. I wish they'd hide it behind the license plate like you used to see way back when.

They cant do that it is illegal because if you get rear ended it could cause a gas leak or explosion.

Vert looked skinnier and I liked it less for that. :p

I hope they keep the gas cap beefy looking. Maybe a brushed aluminum cap.

I know the license plate hide-away can't be done anymore for safety reasons, but the current location is making a big deal out of something rather mundane...

Am I the only one who actually likes the gas cap location? I think it helps to set the Camaro apart.... Will just have to take further precautions when filling 'er up.

It looks to me like rainwater would collect in it.

I love the location of the gas cap, it definitely gives it an "old school" vibe.

Mark me down as another one that likes the location. Ironically that location was sometimes used in the trans am series on some Z/28s as it made refueling easier on pit stops. (Anyone that has filled a 67-68 Camaro knows what a headache they were.) :D

I like the location and look of the concept's gas cap. Sets it apart.

Though I hadn't considered the water collecting there thing that someone else mentioned. How will they remedy that problem?

Have the cover not "seal" and then have a drain inside.

I like it alot, reminds me of the Viper GTS coupe an the old Trans Am cars.

My Vette had it in the middle of the decklid, fuel was never an issue, unless you weren't paying any attention and fat-fingered it.

It could be worse, my Lotus Esprit at TWO fuel fillers, one on each side of the car, with little 'wings' that popped open in the B pillar. Got quite a few stares when remotely popping them both open. Had to fill both sides separately if in a hurry, dual tanks connected only by a few hoses.

You know, I miss the days of the fold down license plate with the gas cap underneath...

ok, not really :)

I like it. Let it dribble and drip before you pull the nozzle out. Like I do on mine anyway.

I was thinking the same thing about the wiping and all. gas drips on car, possible dents due to idiots fueling their cars.

Like DvBoard & 2lane69 said.

Not an issue at all on C2-C4 (63-96) Corvettes.
