xdamagedx 02-01-2007, 01:06 AM Are they worth the $40 or so? Is there a noticible difference? How does it work?
I was considering a B&M type, such as:

mdacton 02-01-2007, 01:15 AM What type of trans? you may wants to post this in the drivetrain
I have used the B&m stuff b4...its not the best on the 700 they just put a spacer in the accumulator pistons and drill the separator plate....you also get a press reg. springs for the pump....a trans guy can give you better info tho
robvas 02-02-2007, 02:45 PM I'd spend the $$ on a convertor or save the $$ for a performance transmission rebuild
2000GTP 02-02-2007, 04:53 PM There are better shift kits out there, I would save your money though. A converter upgrade is what will really wake up your tranny.
xdamagedx 02-03-2007, 12:55 PM Will a converter kill my gas mileage? What kind/type would you guys reccommend?

well, on my 91, i got a B&M shift kit, and a TCI 2500 stall converter. i love my tranny now. the shift kit alone with the stock converter can have really, i mean really hard shifts. the tci is a good add on because it gives you the solid fast shifts, but at the same time not to hard of a shift. the shift kit is actually good for your tranny, it keeps the oil temp down.
and as for gas milege, i noticed i got better with the 2. also because i downshifted, and such for fuel economy.

No it won't. Several brands are out there, TCI, B&M, Edge, Fuddle, ect that range in price and application.
LesPaulGoth 02-08-2007, 10:17 AM The only way to go is with the Trans-Go shift kit. Highly worth the extra $$, as it actually does the shift improvements the "right" way. Also, the video that comes with it makes it foolproof to do on your own.
mdacton 02-08-2007, 10:53 AM Don't buy a b&m converter
ILOVEGINA 02-09-2007, 10:00 AM get a tci, you will love it, trust me, don't get too high of a stall though.
xdamagedx 02-12-2007, 02:28 PM What range of stall should I get?
Also, how does it (if at all) affect the TCC?
And should I consider one with the "anti-ballooning" for nitrous since I'm considering that?
kandied91z 02-15-2007, 10:18 AM your considering nitrous yet your worried about gas mileage? since you haven't listed what your actual combo is it's difficult to say what stall range is best for you but i can personally say that a shift kit is a waste of time and will only hurt your trans. but, people run them and some swear they somehow do something magical so believe what you like. there is money best spent elsewhere.... now a converter that obviously is a good way to increase power since it's a multiplier of your torque so figure out what best you plan to use your car for and then you'll find your stall. too big though and your car will be a pain to drive so use your head. if your car is a race car treat it as such, if it's a weekend cruiser be honest otherwise you'll spend more money on your car in parts and it won't be as fast as you hope.
xdamagedx 02-16-2007, 03:38 PM My car is a daily driver in the summer. It has a straight piped exhaust, non-CC carb., and some weight reduction/engine bay cleanup. Other than that it's a pretty stock 305 z28. I've only had it a few months so I haven't had any time to really do anything to it. I'm open to suggestions as to how to start building it up. Nitrous is just a consideration, only because I like the fact that I can have instant power when I want it, but then again... yeah. Although it IS daily driven I would like it to go down the 1/4 every now-and-then with a respectable time.
