flowmaster 40 series on race car

hey guys,
basically i ahve come into posession of two 3" in/out flowmaster 40 series mufflers that are 9.75" wide and 13" long. i was wondering if anyone knew how well these can flow. my car is a stock bottom end 350 (soon 355 with 250 shot) , gm847 cam, really good ported heads as well, long tubes/electripwp/life/car, and such. would these mufflers restrict my exhaust in a dual set up for a race only car? or would one of these be better on my truck, and the other on my friend's truck. if he posts i shall discredit him as i know he wants his truck to sound "cool" :D

restrictive is a relative term when you're talking a setup like that.

will it be more than straight pipes...yeah.

less than some other mufflers like the magnaflow 4x9 straight thrus...probably not.

should sound fantastic though.

make a few runs, mount the mufflers and make a few more runs...

most likely they will only cost you a few ponies.

hmmm, i was thinking of going bullets if i did not use these, maybe i will give these a test run, any other opinions?

I'd go for it if you want loud. A friend of mine has a 69 camaro with dual 40 series and that car sounds mean. I'm going for a similar setup just because of the way his camaro sounds. It's very loud and very deep.

race cars don't have mufflers anyway so save the weight

you get flowmasters for sound not flow, besides that your going to kill your ground clearance. they would sound decent in think but your better off with bullet type mufflers. imo they actually sound better.

my uncle is trying to buy some for his ss elcamino w a 454 if you want to sell them let me know.
