I just picked up a '93 Z28. I want to put on a set of headers and a good Y-pipe on it. I am not looking to do a true dual set-up either. What brands do you guys recommend? pro's/con's? I would like something that I could install in my driveway, and i'd like to keep the cost down too. This car will probably only be a bolt-on car too. Nothing too crazy.
Thanks,
rob

from what i understand you will have to find 03 specific headers due to the difference in emmision hookups. unless you do not need to worry about emmisions

Emissions? Hooker shorties or Mac mid's
No emissions? Pacesetter long tubes

this may help,i installed a set of these little bad boys yesterday and wow what a diffrence! i had heard some negative things about them but so far so good, they weere fairly easy to install, the sound from them is really great, its a raspy steel kinda sound, and at wot its sounds loud not, obnoxious though!,but for the price for chrome shorties $360.00 delivered to my door, couldnt beat it!,i have my engine bay really nice and clean and didnt want the non coated stuff in there so chrome really looks great! as far as the heat is concerned, just make sure you keep the spark plug wires away from the primarys.

Emissions requirements are a big factor. If you have emissions, then go with a set of shorties or mids. SLP makes a good set of shorties and MAC makes a good set of mid-lengths. If you don't have emissions, then I would consider long tubes. There are several vendors to choose from that all offer a good set of headers, Jet-Hot, Hooker, and Pacesetter. Arguably the best brand of long tube would be the Kooks, but those will also run you the most money.
